i would have put the emphasis on 'may have' unless the goal was to emphasize your conclusion on which was based on uncertain ground.

I emphasized asked because the assumption has been that he left voluntarily due to a disagreement with Dismukes.

If it was bad enough that we asked him to leave, I doubt his mom would have stuck around with the coaches.

Why is everyone still so caught up in the whole Foster debacle? It's more or less over. I hate that he won't be coming here like we originally thought, but it's not like the whole class was hinging on him. Just look at the other guys that are either committed or considered to at least be leaning towards us. And we'll at least have our hat on the table for several others. It's time to move on folks.

Who is to say he's "dead weight"? Because he pulls one immature stunt during recruiting he's now all of a sudden dead weight and won't amount to anything on the field anymore? Not buying it.

That's not what I said.

It wasnt just one stunt. I would include his initial decommittment from Alabama and reading Yeldon's letter, the Auburn tatto, his public ultimatum to decommitt if Trooper was fired and other clear indicators that he could be an issue

Would be interesting to know Trooper's level of involvement in him choosing to do these things.

It's just odd timing that only upon what seems like him committing to bama does all this finally add up to make him untouchable. Because as of last week there sure was a dearth of "we shouldn't take rueben" post and so far all that's changed is he took a visit to bama and a rumor is circulating that he had a dustup with a guy who is probably a bit of a jerk. (if we can play loose with the facts then i'm saying dismukes is a jerk).

The writing was on the wall when he left saturday and planned on announcing "not at AU high". My question is how long has this all been planned. Hope we haven't been getting trolled for months.

As of this morning, I still felt like we had a pretty good shot at Foster... it's now becoming pretty clear that's not the case. The whole leaving in the middle of his OV was more than likely planned to maximize bad PR and possibly affect our biggest recruiting weekend of the year... he's known at least since his OV to Bama that he's going there.

It's all good... this class will be solid with our without Foster.

we've been getting trolled for at least the last two weeks.

I guess that's my point, hindsight is 20/20. Now that everything is coming together it may not be such a bad thing if he doesnt end up at Auburn.

IMO, this is Gus's most important class. We cant afford another 3-9 in the SEC. There's enough Divas currently on the roster. We need guys like Lawson, Toney, and Johnson who are all about the team and hardwork, not self-gratification.

That would be 2014, when he has more than 60 days to salvage a class.

There was a lot of talk about Josh Bynes over the weekend and how he wasnt the best player on the field but he worked the hardest. Bynes is now the only Auburn player to have a NC and a Super Bowl ring.

I'd like to see Auburn recruit more guys like that in addition to the highly rated prospects

I want Foster as much as or more than anybody on this board, and if he comes GREAT, if not, its nowhere near as bad as some of y'all are making this out to be. Our last two undefeated seasons (2004 &2010), we had average to slightly above average SEC linebackers (2004-T. Will, A. Williams, & Kevin Sears...2010-Bynes, Stevens, Bates). We have Mckinzy who I think has shown he can play to the level of these guys, and Flowers who will probably walk in and be average (at least better than Holland). We have a better shot to land 2 great 2014 inside LBs in Hamilton and Tre Williams than we originally ever thought we had with Foster. So long story short......calm the frick down!!

Yeah, I'm impressed by what this staff has been able to do, but 2014 will be Gus' true class.

And as much as people like to talk about conspiracies and screw-jobs and such, let's just drop it. No one knows what's going on behind closed doors, nor should we care at this point. Let's focus this thread on how we will finish this class out, instead of griping and whining about one guy or one school.
