Reading about Trey Johnson's visit from Ellis today.. hate to say it but sounds like we're out of the picture. Just gotta hope he lands at Ohio State and not UF.

He's retweeting a lot of Florida stuff as I type.

if it's this week, it won't be Rocker... or it could be rocker, but it won't be made public by Saturday.

I really doubt it's Rocker. Just a lot of wishful thinking by Auburn fans.

@JHokanson: JUCO DT Lavon Hooks also said it's his understanding that Auburn will have new DL coach by his visit this weekend

I think we hold on to Reuben and Carl. Trey Johnson is gone. I have no clue what Liner is going to do.
There's a new video interview with Reuben Foster up at AuburnSports.com, and Reuben says that both Jeremy Johnson AND Dee are in his ear about coming back and sticking with his commit. So TIFWIW.
Also says that he basically decommitted in order to meet the new coaches and find out what they're all about. He obviously has no relationships with the new coaches (of course, outside of Jeremy, neither does any other recruit).
I think UGA will make it tough, but his mother and his family are in Auburn. Ultimately, as we bring our staff together and he learns about the new coaches, I think he sticks. With Johnson as good as gone, we really need him to.

And I just saw this tweet from Lavon Hooks. It's from about 12 hours ago after he had learned he received an offer from Auburn:
Maybe reading too much into it, but with him taking his last visit here and then announcing on Monday, I like our chances. Not to mention we just offered him last night/this morning, and we're already in his group of finalists along with Ole Miss, Miss. St. and Washington.
Things looking up. We need this kid, too.

We are his best offer in terms of progran tradition and childhood favorite. Add ib the Irons and we have some solid connections with the kid. Just hope it is enough

Even with all the problems Auburn has had in the last 6 months and a the coaching staff turnover we are still Auburn. We should have an excellent chance pulling a recruit away from Ole Miss, Miss. St. and Washington.

Ellis visited Lawson last night, in case that hasn't been reported in this thread.
And I think I saw it either in this thread, or on this board, but the Clemson DL coach is the name rumored as a possibility to come to AU. Which, if that happens, wouldn't hurt us in terms of getting back in things with Adams.

we're in desperate need of underclassmen DLs, particularly interior guys... we've got a ton of juniors and seniors on the DL heading into 2013, with only a handful of younger guys... really need to land Adams, or someone along those lines.
The JUCO guy would definitely be nice, but we need guys we can develop and be here for 3+ years.

We went from competing with Bama, UGA, and FSU to the Mississippi schools and Wazzou? Not cool

Good God. Seriously?
One guy and all of a sudden we've just stopped competing with these schools for recruits?
We're going after a guy that should be able to come in and compete pretty quickly for a starting job, or at least a spot in the 2 deep. Carter and Whitaker are just not going to cut it at this point, imo, so that leaves us with Wright, Blackson, Sigler and Nero, who redshirted last year. If you didn't notice, our interior DL was horrible this year and as much as I'd love to bring in some big time freshman DT's, we need someone who can step in and help at that position right away.
We're still going after some top notch DT's that aren't juco, but they won't be able to come in and help like Hooks will.
He's got a damn good offer list for a guy coming from juco
