I love watching Scherzer pitch. He's so competitive.

Agreed. Reminds me of Smoltz.

His eyes creep me the frick out.

I guess I've matured over the years because I used to hate any player that made my teams look ridiculous. Now I love watching guys like Harper, Scherzer, etc.

Bowman did say however, that if he struggles it might be a few more days.

I truly think AA is being truthful with the "these guys are rushed" thought but the cat is already out of the bag with Acuna. The cat is already out of the bag with Soroka. He cannot hold either of them back for very long.

Agreed. We see it with Fried in AA, Alex Jackson in AA, Mauricio Cabrera in A+, Ray-Patrick Didder A+, Jared James A+, Anfernee Seymour A+, Isrnel Wilson A, etc...

Just because a couple of guys are called up higher, it doesnt mean that the organization is big on moving up players.

Although Im pleasantly surprised with Julio's effort.

How?

6 IP
5 H
4 W
2 ER

Thats one and a half guys on base during his start. That is bad.

Like 3 of those guys you listed aren't even considered "prospects" in our system so where they play is pretty irrelevant. Wilson hasn't ever really played well so it's no surprise he's back in Rome, Didder hit .230 last year so of course he's going to start back in Florida. The AAA rotation is so stacked that somebody had to be left out, but I doubt Fried is down too long at all, and Alex Jackson only played like a month in AA and didn't put up ridiculous stats so it makes sense for him to start there to continue working on his catching.

My whole point is we aren't all of the sudden going to handle every player with kid gloves, we'll still be aggressive with guys deemed capable of handling a challenge like Soroka, Allard, Tarnok, Waters, Wright, Acuña, etc.

Because I was expecting him to get dominated like he seems to everytime he faces the Nationals.

2 of those walks were unintentional intentional walks to Harper.

If you want to judge starts strictly by the numbers, then that is certainly your right, but I have watched every game so far this year and my opinion is that he was sharper than he was in his first two starts (which isn't saying much). I also have the ability to recognize that the Nationals have a very potent offense, going against a pitcher who has struggled. Getting out of that game only giving up the two first inning runs and managing his way around that lineup is a good start. You are certainly free to disagree.

are most thinking 4/16 for Acuna?

I've been eyeing tickets for next Monday for a while (It's not like it's a big investment), but hoping consensus gets a little stronger as weeknight games are hard to plan

I got tickets for the 16th as well in anticipation. My hope is that he is called up, but I'm not holding my breath.

also, Acuna broke his silence with a 2-4 day (double, run scored). Camargo hit a big dong as well as he makes his way back. Allard struggled in his first start of the season giving up 3 ER in 4 IP.

Allard seems to be getting surpassed by other pitchers in the system as he progresses in the minors. About a year ago, he was probably the #1 pitcher on the farm. Now he may not even be top 5

Our pitchers are killing themselves by giving up so many hits to pitchers this year.

It's strange.

If Folty or Newcomb can ever get that whole consistency thing down, we'll have a TOR starter. Folty's stuff is ridiculous

I picked that Monday's game in our season ticket draft solely for that purpose. Still sounds like that will probably be the first home game, but nothing concrete.

WHAT?!?!
If anyone isn't watching feel free to watch the 9th and 10th innings.

We blew it in the bottom of the 9th giving up a solo HR up 2-1. So we go to the 10th at 2-2 and attempted to steal home with 2 outs and the guy was safe but called him out. Then reviewed it and still called him out. He was definitely safe but don't think they had enough to overturn. shite call though.

Kinda like when Julio scores a TD against the Saints that they don't rule a TD and then review and don't have enough to overturn, even though it was a shite call.

fricking atrocious. If I were the Braves I'd already be putting in a formal complaint.

I mean, unless you are indeed out when your hand is already touching the plate and your sliding into the tag into your face.

... and we just gave up the lead with 2 outs in the bottom of the 11th. Jesus.
We apparently don't want to win this game. 2x blown leads.
