After a glimmer of hope from Wesleyan, it looks like ELCA’s about to roll to their 5th straight title. Unbelievable.

Death, Taxes, Buford being good at football.

Played against them in high school in the playoffs and I'm convinced they take steroids. Thats a strong bunch.

Buford recruits. There’s some loophole in the system that allows it. Being a city school and not a county school or some such thing.

The dome wanted $600K

I don’t blame them. The Georgia Dome looked like a giant trash bin after a day of high school football.

GHSA became that entitled child/employee that thought they were owed the privilege

??

It’s incredible to me that both Valdosta and Lowndes continue to be powers in a county in the middle of nowhere.

Can’t be recruiting because no one will move there on purpose.

So weird still to see teams with losing records making the playoffs. My school went 8-2 in 1999 and missed out. The region was divided into two divisions and they got stuck in with Marietta and Walton despite only being a few years old.

At least they're still in a decent stadium. FL state title games are in shitty HBCU stadiums in Tally and Daytona.

Im convinced Irwin could have whipped alot of upper class teams. They dominated their entire schedule from start to finish. Their coach was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer and they took a picture of him sleeping with the trophy last night. My wife is from Irwin and it's been a fun ride watching that team win it all this year after coming close in previous seasons.

shite, try Lowndes. I went to HS in Atlanta from 1996-2000 and they were a powerhouse then too.

No kidding. They treated the Georgia Dome like absolute garbage for those events.

GSU stadium is a nice enough venue - big enough to host any size crowd, affordable for the GHSA, central location in the state, historic building value to keep it "cool for the players to play in a big-time venue," and I actually heard the tailgate scene in the former Green and Blue lots was pretty fun.

Ideally, this event would be held at the Benz, or at Georgia Tech, but you could do much, much worse than GSU stadium. #RIPTedTurnerField
