You can put me squarely in the category of "never play in-state schools"

The U of A has everything to lose and nothing to gain. Here we sit losing by 5 runs to UALR at home after 70+ years of never playing in-state schools. The jokes write themselves. Don't give me the shite about "mid-week pitching" or "it helps the other schools". It hurts Arkansas, and that is all I really care about.

Also, put all the Little Rock games in Fayetteville and tell Jerry to shove a stick up his arse, and that we're gonna play Texas A&M home and home.

Its just UALR, did their players have to drive themselves to the game?

Yeah Frank wasn’t an idiot. Giving an instate program a platform is really stupid.

Yeah, who's idea was it to schedule UALR and UAPB?

Keeping that money instate.

It's just one game. Still, you don't expect to see this in year 16.

I mean you have to admit that it’s mildly humorous to get smoked the first time you play an instate school in a regular season game.

Oh, It's hilarious in a "this is the most Arkansas thing ever" kinda way.

I have nothing against UALR, either.

But crap man. Win games. The 21st century has been to terrible to UofA athletics

Technically the first time regular instate game since Frank was hired.

Technically the football or basketball coach would in the unemployment line the day following getting smoked by an instate school. Its one thing for stAte to think they have a better football team any given year than the hogs or UALR a better basketball team, its another for them to actually be able to prove it.

With the way we’re playing tonight I don’t think we would beat Little Rock Central. Just so happens we’re playing UALR. But they’re definitely motivated for this game, their bullpen was yelling and talking a ton of trash.

You gotta figure Arkansas’s players are very motivated as well.

Why even play anyone with that attitude? Don't play any games and declare yourself undefeated. Arkansas looks worse by ducking in-state teams than it does by losing to in-state teams. Arkansas fans aren't going to switch to the other teams, recruits aren't going to UALR instead of Fayetteville. The U of A just needs to grow a pair compete and win.

You're right, the important thing is they tried their best and had fun out there. The ooc schedule in football is about to be easier to figure out every year with stAte in WMS after this showing of how the other instate schools are ready to compete.

I think DVH is obviously one of our better coaches. But I've seen him do some pretty bondheaded things. You can't argue with his results though. I hate seeing a guy try to steal second, get thrown out, only to have the batter walked. Crap like that drives me crazy about DVH. I understand eliminating the shot at the double play etc.. But still.

I don't watch a lot of baseball though. Its like golf. I have almost no interest in watching it. As a sport both are boring imo for the spectator. Fun to play though.

How many times does a batter or a pitcher have to scratch his nutts and spit his chaw before every pitch ? Drives me fricking nutts. They should have a pitch clock and speed up the game. Otherwise frick it.

Oh and getting torched by UALR lmfao.. Typical Arkansas.

Exactly. Every player on the UALR team would suck a dick to put on a Hog uniform.

They have one but it's never enforced. And now they have replay which makes the games even longer. The game last night was over 4 hours long.

It's baseball bro. Any team can be beat on any given day. It does not have the same impact as losing to Astate in Football or BB.
