Florida leads the league in turnover margin. Even our point guard turned the ball over at least four times last night and that dude doesn't typically turn the ball over ever.

Florida plays defense at an elite level and Arkansas won't face another team that good on defense all year. Maybe in the NCAAt, but certainly not before.

Too many unforced turnovers as well.

Yeah. Florida rattled them early and they never recovered until the very end.

But what happened was that Arkansas rattled them too. I mean, neither team scored 60 points. The game played out pretty much as I expected except I thought the Hogs would be able to pull it out late at the foul line.

Our shooters were all playing terribly except for Jones, but instead of folding up shop they buckled down on defense and still made a game of it.

I called it during the first half of the game that Arkansas would have a shot to win it late at the foul line. And that's exactly what went down. Our players played smart for the most part. They went at Florida's defense and drew loads of fouls. Of course they weren't making anything at the line until late in the game, but it damn near worked even though nobody could buy a bucket.

Arkansas impressed me with the way they fought in that game. They could have attacked that defense earlier and maybe won the game, but they got it figured out. Still lost, but they'll grow from that.

Gotta get over the mental hurdle. Like I also expected, this team performed better on the road against Aggy than they did at home.

Team is still doing exactly what I expect to see.

I'm content with a 2-1 start so I'm not going to be too upset unless we also lose to LSU. 2-2 would also be fine because 3 of those games are played against teams that should finish in the top 6 of the league.

On the other hand, lose to LSU and we are going to start the season 1-3. The next game is on the road at a better than expected Ole Miss team.

Yes. If they lose to LSU, it will spiral out of control very quickly. It would probaby lead to a fire-able end of the season record. I hate that. Mike is a good dude.

This is the same guy telling everyone else they don't know anything about basketball. This is a good game:

Look...I am not trying to be a Debbie Downer here...but we are going to lose to LSU. Likely by quite a bit. We get to follow that game up with a trip to Knoxville(oh joy) and then a trip to Ole Miss(oh shite).

Our basketball team is looking at a 2-6 record for the month of January(2-5 SEC).

I don't disagree that the above situation is a real possibility, hence why I already went through that scenario. I'm just not going to criticize games that haven't been played yet. Especially ones that are predicted to be a very close game on most metrics.

We just need to give Mike even more time to get his players here. We just need to be patient and he might get us into the NCAAT again in a few years. Wait 'til next year.

The only way I can explain being able to tolerate watching this team is by having started a drinking game. For every time Bailey or Gabe takes a jump shot, I drink. For every time Gafford flops to the ground, i drink. Get hammered pretty easily in that 2 hours.

You can’t play Harris and Gabe at the same time because both are non factors on offense

Chaney needs the majority of the minutes at the 4. Bailey plays like the basket is going to bite him, and Gabe has no idea what he's doing out there.

We need more players moving without the ball. We also need more screens by the guards. Dribble drive etc..

And for the love of God, somebody on the bench needs to step up and be a consistent scorer. I was hoping Keyshawn would be that guy, but one game he's hot and the next game he cant buy a bucket. Same goes for Desi.

We are a young team, but these young men are already several games into CBB. It's time to put the big boy pants on.

"It's been different," Portis said last week after practice. "Coming from college to this is very different. College is more up-and-down, tempo type of thing. NBA is more confined and structure-based. It's different because at my college, we didn't even run plays. We just got me the ball or got [Arkansas teammate] Mike Qualls the ball, a clear-out type of thing. But now it's more of a dribble-drive, setting pick-and-rolls, pick-and-pops, so it's kind of different for me."

It’s fairly obvious that this is what’s been going on. And you don’t really need to know much about the game to see it.

Typical Mike street ball.

I just had a long conversation with my brother about mike. I hit him with the "we just gotta give mike a couple years to get his guys in here". Dead silence ensued. He then told me he knew I was trolling, but i got the hint that he agreed.

So just so everyone knows. There are people who want to give Mike a few more years to prove himself. This isn't Mike's fault we had to get JUCOs to fill a roster that had no one on it that he recruited. That is why this team is so young.
