After 1st weekend in November.
Petrino: 5-4(1-3 vs. top 25)
Pittman: 6-3(3-2 vs. top 25)

Petrino: Offense built around young WRs and QB with 2 years of eligibility remaining. Defense a work in progress.

2010 Recruiting Class Rank: 41st(#10 SEC)

Pittman: Offense built around a Soph QB and young RBs. Defense a work in progress.

2022 Recruiting Class Rank: 19th(#7 SEC)

My take: I like what Pittman is building vs. Petrino. Pittman build is centered around physicality and running the ball. Pittman will lose a few pieces, but has a pretty good core of players coming back in 2022. Similar to Petrino, will return a young crop of RBs(Petrino WRs), and very promising QB on offense.

I am really excited about the direction of the offense with some of the young WR's, young O line talent, and KJ/Rb's.

I am pretty worried about the future of the defensive front 7. We have some secondary talent, but we need to hit the portal for linebackers and linemen. Would be nice if Bumper pool came back as a super senior.

Yeah my only issue is will there be growing pains with some of the young offensive lineman next year. Hopefully not since they will have been in the system already but game experience is different than practice. I like kJ and the backs a lot and I feel like the receivers will end up being okay, but there’s no way you just replace Burks. Knox has definitely seemed to come into his own at tight end. Hudson Henry is a bust at this point

I really like the potential of Knox as a flex tight end with a whole offseason practicing as one. You are right the receivers will take a step back losing Burks. I'm hoping guys like Ketron Jackson, Sategna, and Bryce Stephens can still be productive.

I’m not really concerned about WR. We will return Jackson, Crawford, and Thompson as a decent core with Knox as a flex/TE.

Interested to see how our defense does next year. We will be more athletic but much less experienced.

Next year will really be the test for Pitt. We need to develop our young guys a lot this offseason. Having the extra bowl practices will be big.

Going to the portal again and Juco. Probably less than the last two years but it is still needed as the two deep isn't quite as developed yet. I expect by year four that we will see more normalcy.

We have to stop the stupid penalties. Consistently getting false starts kills offenses momentum.

Everyone needs to remember when Coach Pittman was hired, he was hired a week or two before the signing date. So, basically he's only had one recruiting class. He's been a miracle worker to accomplish what he has so far.

He'll do things the right way, and will eventually get us more depth and better talent. He inherited such a shite show that he'll need at least three seasons for us to see a significant difference.

I have faith he'll get it done. You can bet your arse that when he retires, we won't have to hire a Chad Morris type to come in here because that was the only coach that would take the job.

Coach Pittman will prove that you can win here, recruit here, and he will have left a good foundation for the next coach.

With all that said, Coach may have another 10 years (or longer) left in his tank. Time will tell...

I like what he’s done so far. I am very worried about the lack of depth after this year. It’s not his fault there isn’t any depth but man that blows.

we’ve got decent depth on offense. Returning the entire backfield, quarterback and only losing one receiver, albeit a big one, only tight end we lose is kern which isn’t a big loss, and then on the offensive line we might actually get better with some of the departures considering the guys who will be stepping up in their place like ty’kiest Crawford and Jalen St. John. Stormberg is our best lineman and he will be back as well. The defense will have quite a few holes but I think the key to how that unit performs will depend a lot of whether or not catalon tests the nfl waters after this season or if he thinks he can raise his stock with one more year up on the hill. Losing montaric brown will hurt but we should be getting bumper pool back for a super senior campaign and the dline will lose a few guys but they haven’t done much this year anyway since A&M. We still return ridgeway, Zach Williams, Isaiah Nichols, Eric Gregory and I think a couple more. The back end should see Myles Slusher take a step up and hopefully guys like bishop and Johnson step up out there. I believe foucha and Brooks will have eligibility remaining as well.

I feel like i sound so negative lately and I don't mean it. Just trying to keep myself grounded.

But isn't another difference in these teams petrino was playing with the youngest or second youngest roster in the country while Pittman is playing a roster with super seniors?

We will bring back quite a bit next year, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

For me, Pittman started with a chicken turd to work with…Petrino started with a program that was only 2 years removed from winning the West and still had some national respectability.

Yeah I'm really hoping we find a way to replace Burks by committee next year.

If we do we should be in a pretty good position on offense.

Defense I'm worried about, our second string is weak and we're gonna need those guys to play significant minutes next year.

If we can pull a stud WR and LT from the portal our O will be scary good next year.

Yep. The last game Nutt coached we beat the national champions that year and we went 8-4 during the regular season. People were just worn out with Nutt.

Petrino walked into a dream setup. Pittman walked into hell while wearing gasoline underwear. I am not knocking Petrino, who, for all his flaws, is an amazing game day coach, but Pittman was handed perhaps the worst P5 job at the time (not named Kansas) and has brought us back to respectability.

This is absolutely true. Pittman came in and immediately stabilized the program and brought in some very good assistants. He then did a decent job in a short time bringing in some good players. I would expect him do do even better next season. I can see you winning 2 of your remaining games and going to a good bowl. Good luck to the Razorbacks.

We lost most of the core of that team to graduation/NFL.

It's not like petrino returned McFadden.

The oline barely knew how to pass block and the best WR on the team was London Crawford in year 1 under petrino.

His second year you could tell he was getting his player into the system and getting them to make plays but we were young.
