Send her to do some sports reporting in the Arab countries for a while. That should fix her.

Even setting aside the whole Cultural Marxism thing, the cultural differences between Arkansas and California are vast and they have always been vast. This is why I'm a libertarian basically. People with differing values and norms shouldn't be expected to govern themselves the same way.

But political correctness (Cultural Marxism) has no respect for any separation of cultural norms. It wants to destroy all unique cultural identities, individual, and group identities and ideologies with a goal to dictate.

Someone getting upset over being referred to as a "young lady" is just one example or symptom of an individual who has bought in to its nefarious objectives. Maybe she just doesn't understand that most people are getting sick and tired of this nitpicking crap. Or maybe she just thinks she is special.

I guess I grew up in a different time where you had to be thick-skinned or it made things worse.

If someone had gotten all bent out of shape about being called "young lady" then that would be their nickname until the end of time.

I hate the "constantly offended" culture and people thinking that they are owed some sort of compensation because they don't like something someone said.

Oh, you're offended? Congratulations, nobody fricking cares.

Exactly, you have the right to be offended by anything you want. You do not have the right to be not offended. People also are not required to give a shite about you or your opinion. I wish more people understood this.

I'm annoyed by both sides. California raised uber-liberal reporter trying to manufacture some sort of BS chauvinistic talking point on Twitter to get attention vs a group of folks screaming "snowflakes are so offended!" all over Twitter while allowing some 20-something year old girl's crappy opinion make them so pissed that they can't see straight.

She either deleted the quote or I couldn't find it on her account. If she truly did say this, it's not the best way to get attention unless she wants the backlash. She's not in California.

Respect for ones elders shows character.
Young “lady” hopefully learns from this.

She knows DAMN WELL that he meant no disrespect by saying that. I'm sure Coach Pittman has said that throughout his life in a southern manner kind of way.

Like a few previous posts, all she had to do is talk to coach in a private discussion. Once she took her grievance to twitter, she lost all credibility. Especially with the fact that he meant no offense.

I swear social media/twitter has made people a bunch of bitches. It's scary how 10 years ago none of this SJW, oppression indoctrination, existed in the general population. We live in the best time in human history, and if your listened to these people enough you would think that it's the worst.

When shitty opinions go unchallenged they become popular sentiment.

Do I believe people should get fighting mad at this? No. Do I believe people should tell her she is wrong? Absolutely.

If you listened to people like her, you would think America was the worst.

Not Libya where they have open slave markets, the rest of the Middle East where you have to cover up completely or be stoned/flogged, if you are raped you are put to death for shaming your family, China where being born a girl for the previous 3 and a half decades meant being aborted or killed at birth.

Definitely worse being called young lady, at least it wasn't old hag.

No they don't. They get ignored by 98% of the population and people move on to the next thing a week later. That's just the justification people on both sides use when they get up in arms about something that doesn't matter so they feel like they're somehow bettering the world and not being irrational. You know, because my side is better than yours.

I would have never seen this Tweet or probably even heard about it if there weren't a big firestorm about it. And neither would most of the folks on here. But instead, people threw a shite fit and spread her message to a much broader audience than it would have ever reached otherwise.

That can't be real. Nobody in the media will openly piss and moan about that right after a coaching hire.

This is very silly to watch from the outside looking in. It’s as if both sides are offended snowflakes and whichever group shouts snowflake or cuck the loudest wins the argument. Pass

Neither side realizes the only way to win is to shut the frick up about it and not give each other the attention that both groups are addicted to.

This is the next phase of the Arkansas Football curse.

Pittman steadily rebuilds our football program to where we're competitive again in the SEC. On the brink of playing in the SEC Championship, he refers to a media member as "dude," not knowing that that person identifies feminine of center gender fluid. CNN and MSNBC run hit pieces about what a bigoted shitlord Sam Pittman is with his "dude" and "ma'am" language. He falls victim to Cancel Culture, and Joe Steinmetz names Julie Cromer-Peoples as interim head coach.

My wife works in the media which is a male dominated field. Even she thought it was ridiculous to get upset about the "young lady" thing and even if she had been offended, she said what others have said. "After the conference, introduce yourself to the coach and explain your feelings. If you can't get to the coach, grab the SID and let them know you didn't appreciate it. Basically, handle it like a professional."

It occured to me yesterday when all of channel 5 came out a blazing that this is nothing more than a big pub stunt. Try to stir everyone up on all sides to get people to notice your channel.

In a week people will forget about the dustup, but when they are thinking of looking for sports info or news, guess who is most likely to come to mind. So the more I think about it, the more it goes on, the more I think it's a plan to get attention. Opertunistic. I could be completely wrong, but I highly doubt that the station Management is unhappy about it. Hell I saw one person even mention their social media metrics are going to look good because of it. Makes me go hmmmmmmm.....

The question here is:

How should he have addressed her?

"You, person wearing the skirt".

Probably true. Most media people are trash attention-whores.
