Doesn't guarantee a NC. If we keep getting there, we'll win one. DVH didn't drop the pop up in 2018. Look at how our average season has improved over his tenure.

There's not anyone we could hire that would guarantee us a NC, but there are a ton of folks that could ruin the program. When we do replace Van Horn after he retires, the odds of us improving are way less than us regressing.

A coach that was almost fired mid season has the chance to win a title before DVH. That sucks.

Kentucky and Kansas have consistently had top 5 recruiting classes and the best facilities and resources in the country. Kentucky hasn’t won a title in 10 years and Kansas just won their first since 2008. Let’s say Kansas lost to unc in April, you think self was gonna get fired? You think Cal is getting fired anytime soon?

DVH threw up the white flag with his management if the pitching in the first game against OM.

He didn't go into the game with a starter who gave the team the best chance of winning, he was playing with the mindset he was going to the losers bracket before the first pitch was ever thrown.

Basically he wasted his chance at a title to setup the team to beat Auburn in the losers bracket the next day.

He did just about all he could to give the game to OM last night with his management of the pitchers in the ninth.

We won't bother going into how one of his better options at pitcher had to beg for a chance to pitch during the season.

Ed Orgeron won a NC. Bill Snyder did not. Who is the better coach?

Kentucky and Kansas have to rebuild their rosters every year due to first round picks in the draft.

They both have dominated their conferences in that time span.

Only one in the three have had a losing season in that time frame and their teams colors doesn't contain blue.

KSU has LSU facilities.

Arkansas has KSU level facilities.

I see your point.

We always have an excuse like all losers do. Glad you can stay happy. Again, I guess im in the minority of people who doesn’t understand why we have the most loyal fan base, a 12,000 person stadium that is better than either of the minor league facilities in the state, and we just recently expanded in right field. Guess that indoor practice facility is making us soft or just isn’t making a difference.

Glad he finally got the facility after being such a bitch about baseball having to wait their turn. You can see the difference in recruiting and development.

Soo…. Based on my experience of playing and watching baseball. Sounds like shite coaching and game management can cause all of those things to bite a team. Conversely, we never DO seize opportunities when they’re gifted to us.

Tell that to Florida State fans… I’m sure that we’ll continue to be a regular face in Omaha. But it doesn’t mean we’ll win. We’ve been there enough times with DVH to have a grasp of how he coaches and continues to be out-coached or out-coaches himself to have no reason to expect a different outcome the next time we go.

If that ND coach goes back to his alma mater, watch out. That dude is a great coach. FSU will be back and maybe even better than they were under Martin. If he leaves, I wonder how many of those will enter the portal. They had one pitcher named Liam, don't remember his last name, but I would love to land him if he were to ever enter the portal.

DaleDenton pushing to hire Mike Anderson as baseball coach.

Don’t think we have forgotten about that. It’s only been a couple of years.

People just love to rationalize when they don’t win or succeed. The entire purpose of a baseball game, series, tournament is to win it. Pumping as much money as we have and getting everything but the intended results is only going to float us for so long. Especially with a coach and staff of coaches who keep making the same mistakes. It all ultimately falls on the guy making over $1 million to find a way to win said games. Winning or losing is straightforward. Maybe some of y’all are more fortunate. But in my line of work (and I’m sure most people on this site), if I kept finishing like this, I’d be asked or told to pack my office and leave.

I'm not on Dale's level, but I know people that have played for Van Horn (albeit 10-12 yrs ago) and they all said he was a miserable prick that eveyone hated. That's not my personal opinion... That's just what I was told.

Now, is that any different than 90% of the other college baseball coaches?? Probably not, so who knows how, if at all, that affects the players, but it should at least be noted.

All I know is, Van Horn has the best facilities in the nation to recruit to (by a large margin it seems) and maybe the best fan support of any program, but he doesn't seem to be hitting the portal hard enough for pitchers.

The simple fact remains, however, that he is 0-9 all time at the CWS and 0-7 in 20 years at Arkansas.

He's basically the College Baseball version of Marty Shottenheimer at this point. He wins everywhere he goes, but he will never win a championship.

Stop stating facts, please. The natives will be upset that your opinion differs based on empirical data that paints a very clear picture. Also, I’ve heard the same thing from his former players (although I honestly wouldn’t give a crap if we won bc 18-22yr olds are crap heads).
