Arkansas' 20-12 record this season is a bit misleading because the Razorbacks were actually 19-7 with Isaiah Joe in the lineup, just 1-5 without him. With Joe and Mason Jones both expected back, which this ranking is based on, Arkansas should return three of its top four scorers and enroll a top-10 recruiting class featuring four top-100 prospects - most notably Moses Moody. So Eric Musselman likely will have the Hogs in the NCAA Tournament and positioned to maybe make the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1996.

20. Arkansas Razorbacks
It was a transition season in Fayetteville, with Eric Musselman taking over and hitting the transfer market hard in his first season at the helm. But 2019-20 also saw a huge breakout campaign from Mason Jones, who established himself as one of the best players in the SEC. Jones and Isaiah Joe were one of the highest-scoring duos in the country and both are expected back for another season. Musselman also landed four ESPN 100 prospects from inside the state and has three transfers eligible after sitting out. The ones expected to make the biggest impact are Jacksonville transfer J.D. Notae (15.5 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 3.4 APG), California transfer Connor Vanover (7.5 PPG) and top-40 recruit Moses Moody. All three could start right off the bat. Musselman has done the rapid-rebuild thing before at Nevada and he's on his way at Arkansas.

19. Arkansas Razorbacks
The Razorbacks have been steadily building since coach Mike Neighbors took over in 2017: 3-13 in the SEC his first season, 6-10 in his second and 10-6 this season, putting them in a four-way tie for third. For the second year in a row, they rallied from a double-digit deficit to upset Texas A&M in the SEC tournament. Arkansas loses second-leading scorer Alexis Tolefree (16.3 PPG) but is set to bring back the rest of its starters, led by leading scorer Chelsea Dungee (16.9). Dungee will be one of three fifth-year seniors who have transferred in, including fellow starter Amber Ramirez (team-best 106 3-pointers) and top reserve A'Tyanna Gaulden. The other two starters back are rising senior Taylah Thomas and rising sophomore Makayla Daniels. So the Razorbacks should be one of the SEC's more experienced teams next season. Arkansas was the top 3-point shooting team in the SEC this season, leading in makes (314), attempts (808) and percentage (38.9). The Razorbacks' three signees include Elauna Eaton, HoopGurlz's No. 9-ranked guard, who is from Arkansas. -- Voepel

To me, Arkansas is weirdly a lot like Kentucky. Do I really expect Mason Jones to be back after a season where came out of nowhere to lead the SEC in scoring and made some All-American teams? Probably not. It’s the same with Isaiah Joe.
But we can only go based on the information we have right now. And if both do come back…. wooooooooah buddy do the Hogs look loaded and ready to make a run in the SEC.
In that scenario Jones is back after an SEC Player of the Year type season, alongside Joe, Desi Sills and Jalen Harris, and they are buoyed by one of the top 10 classes in America. Look for Moses Moody to be the breakout star with Jaylin Williams adding athleticism down low. Same with Cal transfer Conor Vanover. And if you know Eric Musselman, you know that he will always look to improve the talent on this roster via the grad transfer market every single off-season.
Again, for now we’re projecting Mason Jones and Isaiah Joe to come back. And if they do, well frankly, I might be underrating the Razorbacks at No. 14.

If Jones and Joe both come back, its hard to think that we would be outside of the top 20 going into the year. If Jones is gone, I still think we are in are in that 20-30 spot so maybe right on the border of being ranked coming into the year.

This is all very encouraging, but going by the way Arkansas basketball has been the past decade or so, I feel like we're going to be saying "what if Mason Jones was on this team?" We've had too many of those scenarios the past few years. I'll be over the moon if Mason comes back but I'm prepared for disappointment.

The season would have ended at the SEC tourney and ended pretty much the same way.

With a much better record.

Without a tourney to end it, who cares?

I fully expect Jones to come back, us get jacked up about next year, only to have it cancelled because we are still scared of tRona.
That would be the ultimate nut shot.

Surely by then we can play games without fans at the very least

He just declared
Hopefully he’s smart and doesn’t hire an agent

I don't think it matters either way with his wording tbh

True, I think with the way Muss hits the portal if a player declares he’s going to have to move on. The days of getting caught playing catch up are over.

Every player puts their name in. Not hiring an agent is what matters.

Sources tell HawgSports.com that Jones won't sign with an agent, leaving the door open for a return to Arkansas for his senior campaign.

Even with Jones off to the NBA?
Not all of them but some were made with the idea we would lose at least one of Joe and Jones. Hopefully it stays just one.

Arkansas and Louisville to headline 2020 MGM Main Event in Las Vegas.

CBS and ESPN updated rankings keep Mason Jones as undrafted. 70th and 80th on each site.

While 100% true, his wording doesn't sound great to me.
I think he isn't going to be drafted but feels to me like he will go overseas.

Agree, the verbiage makes it sound as if it's a done deal. Regardless, we seem to be in pretty good shape. My post was partly in jest.
