Kiffin, Norvell, Patterson, Gus, Frost among those coaching this weekend. Also Troy and Arkansas State play but hopefully those aren’t an option. Also rules out Venables. If this guy is credible

Arkansas is eyeing two head coaches for their vacancy that are both coaching their current teams this weekend. I don’t expect an announcement before Sunday. JCP told current coaches a new coach would be named within 10 days from Saturday when she met with them.

Yep, and I would guarantee there are going to be some very heated debates on these two among the GOBN/administration this week.

Do you take a gamble on a proven, badass coach who will win lots of games but has the maturity of an 18-year-old and is known flake, or do you take a gamble on a very promising looking coach but has never been in the league and has only been on tbe job 2 yrs at a place that require no rebuild.

To me, Norvell has many qualities that got Bert the job... And look how that turned out. Took over a ready made program and was thought to be a "more with less" guy.

Kiffin is essentially Petrino 2.0 but with better recruiting and not a complete a-hole.

Honestly, it would be hard, but Kiffin just took a dumpster fire at FAU (which was previously coached and run by a Bert disciple) and essentially won their league on 1 yr.

I'd get me a badass law firm and write an iron clad, protective contract andtake the Kiffin gamble. Even if he's here for 2 yrs, the program will be loaded with talent when he leaves, making it very attractive to potential coaches.

I am in utter shock that GUS is still even being considered following the IB and going into SEC C Game...

BUt... evidently he is. I just don't see him coming here after all of that...

Would this be Gus's last chance to coach the Hogs or are we going to act like his side piece he can call up at anytime.

he's only 52, life span for a coach these days is around 5 years so I think it's still possible he ends up here one of these days.

This whole Gus this was initiated by him. He sought out Arkansas. He could still come even if they beat UGA, but I wouldn't expect it. The search will be done by next Sunday.

Malzahn's agent is Jimmy Sexton.

Nuff Said. He was never coming here, but we are being leveraged to make Aubie pay and pay and pay.

I think it hinges on 2 things.

- How bad Mrs. Malzahn wants to be back in Ark?
- What kind of assistant turnover Gus is facing at Auburn?

If Gus see's himself finishing his career at Arkansas now is the time to move.

What about coordinators?

I'm surprised nobody has gone after Mel Tucker.

We’ve never hired an assistant as a HC, doesn’t sound like we are this time around either.

Boy this news is really going out on a limb. People will look at this and see Gus if they want to, but that's a negative. Pretty sure this is referring to Norvell and Kiffin, if it's not just intentionally vague clickbait.

It also says Arkansas is "eyeing" two coaches coaching this weekend, not that it's down to those two.
