Hey if this is the preception from game day analysts then I like it. The other openings in the SEC were predicting much less for the other schools.

I doubt either happen, but nice to see it. Like I said I believe we can do better than other schools.

Just don't see Gus working out. We've all seen these coaching searches and it's rarely ever the first, big name thrown around that accepts.

The only thing that makes me hold out hope of Gus, is that he does stand for his principles, and he has said that he would like to be here.

I hope JCP is in Memphis in about 3 hours hammering out details with our new coach.

I've kinda given the guy grief here on these boards, but of all the names mentioned in this thread I think I would like to see Kiffin first with Norvell or Schiano right behind him.

Actually, Schiano would be pretty awesome. The work dude did at Rutgers is nothing short of spectacular.

Word on Football Scoop that Leach is in play at Tenn if Mullen doesn't jump.

I don't like Gundy too much personally (I'm a man! and the mullet), but I don't have to like them personally if they win. (See Bobby Petrino.)

If Gundy wants it, I would be okay with him as well.

More I think about it, if Schiano is in play for Arkansas they should stick a blank check in his pocket. He may be the best coach in all of football. One of them anyways.

Something like that, a little gimicky maybe, is what I think we are going to need to succeed.
I wanted so bad for us to just line up, tell the man across we are going to whip his arse, and then do it. We just didn't recruit the lines at the level we needed to, and not sure we ever could unless the state put out 4 or 5 quality linemen every year.

Pittman was doing a good job recruiting o-linemen here, but he was recruiting nation wide.

You can do that if you are widely considered to be one of the best coaches in the business. Recruits will travel to play for the best.

It's why Arkansas needs to have a top coach. Not some dude from Cross Church.

Rutgers hadn't been to a bowl in nearly 40 years before he took over there and they went 11-2 in his second year on their way to 4 straight bowl victories.

Yeah

Would be potentially the "biggest hire" of the SEC this year if he came here. I hope they know what they're doing because honestly Florida and Tennessee look stupid as hell. I even said that multiple times on other boards that these programs aren't as "Top Tier" as sec fans think they are.

I don’t care about the biggest name on paper or past accomplishments because each job is different and there aren’t really home run hires anymore.
