Yet Tennessee is completely unraveling while all is quiet on the Western front over here.

Tennessee lost by 3 to a bad South Carolina team and now they've got injuries, locker room issues and 5 stars quitting.

Inversely, we got trucked to the tune of 56-3 by arguably the 3rd best team in our division, and we're not hearing a peep out of our team.

Say what you want about Bert (and I melted like butter in a microwave after Auburn) but he's still got his team focused and not coming apart at the seams.

Because like I said in another thread, it's not as bad as people are making it out to be.

We are exactly were I thought we would be in terms of wins and losses. The 56-3 just makes it seem so much worse. All of that will change if we win on Saturday and that will change if we lose to LSU so its just a roller coaster ride at this point.

I still wish we were better

The 56-3 left a mark on this season that won't buff out.
Kind of like the loss to Toledo last year.

No doubt Auburn was better than us, but I don't think near 53 points better. Maybe 21. Things just snowballed on us - the wear of 8 straight weeks, Gus already making it his Super Bowl before we pissed off the Auburn team by meeting on their logo (make note: don't do shite like that to give the other team more motivation.), plus Auburn having a bye week and being at home.

Lou Holtz used to say 'things are never as bad as they seem and things are never as good as they seem.'

Auburn is not as good as they seemed that day, and Arkansas is not as bad as we seemed.

We're not great, but we're not 56-3 bad either.

Bert's a much better coach than Butch. Water is also wet.

While I would say that we are about where I thought we'd be I'd likewise say I'm not really happy with where we are. We still have quite a ways to go.

The big difference is that we thought we had an outside shot at a great season, maybe a NY6 bowl after we lost to Bama.

The Vols thought they were a shoe in for the SEC Championship game at least, and a CFP bid at best.

It has been a let down of a season for us, its been a march through Hell while covered in gasoline for them.

Those poor bastards had such high expectations.

Our expectations as a whole are posted on this board. The average was around 8-4 on the season. I think most of us knew the OL would be a bit of a concern, but I don't think any realistic Arkansas fan expected to win the West this year.

Tennessee and Butch Jones have no excuses. They returned a shite load off of last years team. I was never high on them and took shite from their fans during the off season about it. They won 9 games a year ago, but didn't have any great wins but lived off of playing Alabama close last season and winning a bowl game by a large margin over one of the more overrated teams, Northwestern.

Butch Jones isn't a very good coach IMO. Its pretty obvious that his players do not respect him. It is also sad that they are in the SEC East and are sitting at 5-3 right now.

Well considering the majority of you think Mike Keach is a shite coach then it's definitely safe to say most of us are living in fantasy land.

No, you are just upset people provided reasons as to why he wouldn't work out. People are not calling him a "shite coach" just because they don't agree with you. I actually think he is a good coach but I don't think that means we should hire him if/when bert is gone.

I don't remember anyone giving me a definitive answer as to why he won't work and we will probably never know for sure if he will or will not because he's most likely never coming here but as you said he's not a bad coach so I'm sure he'd do well here and that's what we need since we can't seem to draw the top talent even with the "cool" coach.

Sorry for hijacking thread, yes we are doing much better than the Appalachian hillbillys
