Those two aren't going to be starters by the middle of next year. Thompson isn't aggressive enough and allowed an easy interception in the bowl.

Thompson just needs to be more aggressive like you said and he’d probably be our #1. It feels like the majority of his snafus are from lazy movements. I’d really like to see Ketron, Jadon and Satenga all get in the rotation early and often next year.

Hoping this is the year we finally get to see what all the Devin Bush hype was about and he becomes a player for us.

Looks like it’ll be with a different team as he hit the transfer portal today.

Saw where Biddy said it’s not official as of yet. I think Danny West sent out the tweet earlier.

Yeah just saw he’s supposedly entering… would be the second time he flirted with it though and he backed out the first time.

If he couldn't get past Clark or Bishop on the depth chart then we could probably do better anyway.

It sucks but a lot of other teams have been hit with much more high profile transfers than we have so far (knock on wood). It's just unfortunate that it's nearly our entire fking secondary.

I read an article that FBS teams have lost an average of 11 players per team during the 2021-2022 portal cycle. It's the nature of the beast these days, no matter who the coach is.

I heard a coach on a podcast say there was over 1000 kids in the portal last year, and most didn’t have scholarships by the start of the next season.

He said he hated the portal because of that.

Yeah, from the SI article I read, the portal has had 1400 players enter since the cycle began in August. There are going to be a lot of kids left out to dry.

Every kid believes they are NFL talent and aren’t seeing the field because the coach hates them. Usually the same coach that recruited them.

Isn't Trent Gordon still with the team? He transferred from Penn St but was injured this year.

Not to be a Negative Nancy, but the Woods departure last year happened after spring ball, so we’re probably going to have to hold onto our butts until summer rolls around.

With the portal and NIL still apeshit with no oversight or sensible regulation in sight, I expect the inter-team frickery to continue through the next several months.

Remember, Utsey and Tre Williams didn’t transfer to us until April and May, respectively.

Like someone said earlier in this thread, college football is going the way of the NFL and NBA in that it’s transforming into a 12 month a year sport.

The only ones I have been told to keep an eye on are AJ Green and Slusher...losing those two isn't going to be detrimental. With expectations what they are now, I don't think we see something like we saw last year with Woods.

That’s my point. This is a top 10-15 pre season squad. Totally different than last year. The offense should be damn good.
