If we keep winning then yeah I agree but that wasn’t in the OP. Just wouldn’t trade actual hardware for one week of people talking about us if it just leads to an appearance in the Texas Bowl or something. I enjoyed the wins over the Mississippi schools last year too but the season as a whole didn’t do a lot to change the perception of us very much from reading other boards.

You gotta have moments like that though. That's a more than 1 week talking point. For the rest of the season when people talk about Texas success or failure they will mention our beat down as a turning point.
It's not about winning it's about being part of the narrative for the season. Whether we win or not we're looking at probably 2-3 weeks of hype and media coverage. We give aTm a beat down or win were probably talking top 10 matchup with Georgia. GameDay in Athens?

To actually answer OP, I'd say yes but I've already admitted to a major baseball bias in the past. I personally would have lost my mind if we had closed out that natty, but I'm fully aware the Texas win is a much bigger impact in every metric.
