But Bobby Petrino is well-known for his recruiting prowess and bubbly personality...

I do not equate a silverfield (Who has not done anything except at Memphis, much alike the last two who have went on to suck) with Petrino (Who has led us to a bcs game and a top 5 ranking man.

Petrino can coach circles around Silverfield with his own players and team. I know for a fact that Pittboss was slowing down Petrino and his offense/practices, etc.

It sucks that our players are such suckage for this to be BP's tryout. He will probably not be hired, and we get either chard or bert 2.0

Rev, I don't really disagree with any of this.

However, equating Silverfield, Norvell, Lashlee, Sumrall, etc. to Chad Morris is assinine and deserves push-back.

The new coach doesn't have to be a 375 LB, drunkard nor does said coach have to necessarily have a losing record.

As a matter of fact, I would avoid both.

What has Silverfield done except beat Pittman? lol... Kind of joking, but who hasn't beaten pittman? Lashlee is from the Malzahn tree, PLEASE LORD NO! He really hasn't done much either when considering the $$$$$ SMU has loaded him up with, Norvell... Hmm, well .. he has kind of sucked, Sumrall has who as his OC?

Pass!

The risk is not worth it in my opinion. We screwed up by not doing it last season, Cashachek needs fired immediately as well. Hire JCP immediately too. LSU is serious about contending and she is now there as an assistant. The only one with the cahones to fire Bert on the field, lol.

Silverfield would do a fine job as well in this cycle.

Not at all sold on Silverfield. He’s much worse than Norvell imo. Hell, as bad as we are, it took us absolutely shitting the bed and giving them the game for them to win.

Give me Bobby a thousand times over before Shillserfield.

Not true. Cotton bowl was still important when we won it in 88 and 89

The risk!?!

Arkansas is 14-57 in conference play over the last 9 seasons. Vanderbilt passed Arkansas in conference wins since 2012 yesterday afternoon.

Exactly what does Arkansas have to lose? If it's Bobby, so be it, but this is not some "turning point moment" in the history of Arkansas football where young coaches should be looked past because we need a proven winner.

Speaking of winning, Bobby is 0-3 and his offensive skill players have single-handedly cost Arkansas 4 games this season.

Quite literally the worst possible year to be looking for the next up and coming coach continues to get worse. I'm obviously Bobby biased but I also have zero faith in Hunter to hire a coach even with limited competition. In the current state of the coaching carousel? No chance.

There are definitely a ton of variables to contend with during this next hire. I want CBP to have this job but I also need him to show it on the field. I don’t hold him accountable for the players on D. O needs to be better even if they means trying out KJ. That’s a tough decision to make

I don’t think there will be a hire out there that is available better than Bobby. Somebody is gonna have to want this job. I like the USF guy over Silverfield…I know what just happened but still.

According to the nation wide talking heads we are like 4th best, which is better than I was thinking.

LSU, Florida, Penn State then us.

At this point it’s retarded to not hire bobby full time. I lost some mojo for him after yesterday but it has to be him. We’re not gonna compete at all with LSU, Florida and possibly Auburn and maybe Texas now for a coach. Hire Bobby and a good respectable DC and go from there

Since being fired from us 15 years ago, what has bobby done that is more impressive than what silverfield has accomplished in his last three years?

I’d prefer to overpay him as an OC and hire a defensive coach. I don’t see either happening. I’d be more happy with giving him the add a year every year if you have a top 15 offense contract.

You proved my point, we haven't had a coach take us to any bowl game that meant anything (while in the SEC) other than Petrino.

It’s kind of funny.

So many around here throw their noses up at the thought of hiring James Franklin. A proven winner that’s made the playoff, won 13 games in a season and has 6 seasons of 10+ wins. Won 9 games twice at Vanderbilt when they still had academic strict enforcement on all athletes.

But we are okay with a G5 guy with a couple years of experience at a lower level, or hiring a guy that’s literally responsible for this Hog Football era’s shite show.

Arkansas football is a collective shite show, whether any of us want to admit it or not.

Silverfield hasn’t done anything impressive at all, so it doesn’t matter
