Whatever you know what I’m getting at only person who would complain about musselmans coaching ability is some homer who thinks the kids from their area are soo good and the only way they don’t turn into super stars is sub par coaching

I'm from Little Rock and Devo is from Jacksonville, so what does Fort Smith have to do with anything?

Naw

I can find plenty to complain about for any coach, but it doesn't mean that I don't respect them. Muss is one of the best coaches in the game, imo, but I still think he made a lot of mistakes this year. But I'm okay with that and just feel lucky we have him. In fact, I wouldn't trade him for anyone else.

Yea it’s muss’ fault Devo couldn’t dribble at the beginning of the year and was horrific shooting from the field.

It’s pretty well known on Rivals what was going on with him early in the year and it wasn’t Muss…

Yeah, I'm not on rivals, so spill the beans!

I wasn't just talking about this year, though. I thought the same thing last year, too.

Please provide some backup to what you'd change in his development? What are we doing wrong?

Muss hates losing. He's not afraid to change in order to win. It's by far the best thing about him, he's learning from every success and mistake....more from the mistakes probably as he tends to looks like someone just died when we lose a game.

That's a perfect description. I love that about him. He loathes losing.

He's a natural PG who loves to create scoring opportunities for others. I know there are questions about his ball handling, but Lykes and Notae are no better here.

He looks unsure of himself, as if he's just expected to score and he knows that he's not a great shooter. I suspect that he'd make huge strides if he were playing point and tasked with running the offense, though.

I could go on, but I'll leave it here. But please don't mistake me for someone trying to be critical, who doesn't like Muss, because that couldn't be further from the truth.

Totally reasonable. We have a group of fans ready to grab pitchforks if you suggest there could be anything aside from Christlike perfection with Muss

There are some Devo family members that post on Rivals. He really had NBA scouting and NIL in his head early in the season when it was blowing up and wasn’t focused. Didn’t feel like he was getting his due here and the team wasn’t performing.

Muss worked him off the ledge, managed him and he buckled down in practice. you could see his improvement as the year progressed.

That being said, Muss has let him run the offense a fair amount.

But if you think we’re better running it through Davis than Notae after watching us win like 17 out of 20, I don’t know what to tell you.

Yep. He somehow hates losing more than I do. Combine that with probably the highest basketball IQ when it comes to Xs and Os.

I don't really stress out when we play any more. He seems to make great adjustments at halftime. We're not gonna win every game but he's gonna put our team in the best position to succeed. Our losses have mainly come from players being sloppy or just not making shots.

Exactly…

Win 15 straight or whatever but “made lots of mistakes along the way”

“We could have been a 1 seed!!”

He missed badly on Lykes but it’s not like this entire board wasn’t rock hard for him.

And I was one who talked trash on not landing Pinson but he was absolutely terrible down the stretch. Think he had 6 TOs yesterday.

Thanks!

I suspected that, as it seemed obvious, but it's nice to have confirmation.

I do. I wouldn't change anything about Notae's role, except for having Devo set up the offense. Notae would receive fewer shots, because Devo would be finding better shots for others, but everything else would remain the same. And I'd still want Notae to take over when the game is on the line.
