He had OU as the runner-up in 2022 and they'll at least be the runner-up in 2026, if they don't end up winning the thing.

I'm not sure how I feel about him. In eight years at Oklahoma, he's gone to the CWS twice while being unranked with basically .500 conference records and getting hot at the right time. Four of the other six years, he only went to a Regional. The remaining two, he missed the tournament altogether.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, especially if he ends up upsetting North Carolina. But I get the feeling he'd maybe do just good enough here to not get fired for ten years, and that's not an appetizing prospect.

You'll have Bobby Wernes and you'll like it when DVH hangs it up after next season

Y'all want to run off DVH but want to hire a dude that's done even less.

I don't get some of y'all.

It's just whoever wins a Natty at this point since DVH can't get it done

It is. We already have everything else. I don’t care about all time wins or appearances. DVH always squanders his good chances any time he gets, so yes I want to see someone who’s had 2 decades to win a natty and was given the keys the the Cadillac by Norm replaced at this point. We have THE SAME issues every year.

Skip Johnson has made it out of Regionals twice in his entire head coaching career, missed the tournament completely twice, and finished with a losing conference record 4 times in 8 years.

Within that same time frame DVH has won the West 5 times, has 3 SEC regular season or tournament championships, made Omaha 4 times, Supers 5 times and never missed the tournament.

This is getting ridiculous.

He also went undefeated in Arlington and yes we lost to TCU once again.

The signs were there with Pompey, Brumbaugh and the other failures of this staff.

Facts are, this staff can't get it done.

Larger issue is the AD.

0U has shite facilities in everything but football same small shitting instate recruiting pool like Arkansas, but they have had excellent ADs which have made good coaching hires in sports who have outperformed their lack of financial support in everything but football.

That said everyone knows their next baseball hire is coming from within like every non revenue sport hire hunter had made, this is why none of them are looking for jobs elsewhere. That and DVHs Nutt level of loyalty for underperforming by his staff has created a stagnet waiting game for the baseball program.

The fans deserve better.

DVH has like 5 more seasons. For better or worse.

They don’t want consistency, they want feast or famine. They want to win a NC and lose every series the next year.

24 years and no title. It's called coping with mediocrity.

He had down seasons, Dave has had like 2 in 24 years. I’m not saying it isn’t time for him to go. I am saying he has 5-7 more years and will choose when he leaves. He will also most likely choose who his successor is.

He is our Mark Richt.

Dave has said multiple times in the past he wants to retire at retirement age, so that would be about 3 years or so left.

I believe it was last year when we played Creighton with their coach retiring end of year he said he's not too far behind.

Only ignorant fans want that. I would never choose winning a title one time to just disappear for years and years after and be bad to completely irrelevant.

As a fan you just watch each year to be entertained so the only thing you want is a realistic shot and a good team. If you have that every year you're spoiled as hell. We are lucky we have that now in hoops and baseball. It is never happening in football.

Oklahoma doesn't care about baseball and they have 12 CWS appearances, two CWS titles and are about to get a third one.

This is a damn joke.
