Why couldn't gus recruit here? I'm kinda flabbergasted to see that argument. Sure, kids like to go to Auburn, play in iron bowl, school w recent success etc...

Dont forget most of that recent success is due to Gus

I really like this list other than Malzahn though. Just goes to show all the "we're gonna have to hire a shitty coach because we're poor ole Arkiesaw" jackwagons that the national guys have opinions in line with ours.

There are several out there that naysay all the coaches we throw out because "no coach would want to come here." frick that, look what all the big news sources are saying.

I'd puke if we hired malazahn.

That being said,I've heard that Butch Davis,Kiffin and Freeze have contacted us.

Has anyone heard that?

I probably would. Not because Freeze is better, but Freeze has never rubbed our face in shite the way Gus did two years ago.

I've heard about Freeze and Kiffin, they supposedly wasted no time and reached out within 24 hours.

Davis might as well have been on speed dial for years now when it comes to a couple of the BoT and boosters.

I called my shot the other day and said it'll be Norvell, and I'm still sticking with that.

ETA - I used to think you were cool MoT, like a message board brother or cousin of mine. Family's about to disown your arse

They’d probably be the smart ones and snatch up Norvell immediately.

AKA my absolute worst fear of the outcome of this coaching search.

We get their trash and they get our treasure

We can either have Gus who is in the downhill of his career or Norvell who is in the upside of his.

It’s a pretty simple decision

In still want Norvell, my point though is Gus wouldn't be bad. Honestly coming around more to it. Deep down Auburn doesn't want to let go of Gus. That right there speaks loudly to me.

I don’t think they realize how much Gus is hated in Arkansas.

arse Beebe said, NO ON GUS! and he does have major connections to the douche.

I don't want a man whose offensive system is on the way out, without innovation, who is truly stubborn, and who without his defense this last 2 years would have been fired. Folks, he is an offensive coach, and offensive at that.

I want Norvell, Clark, Campbell

Then down below
Leach, Pittman (with a great staff), Kiffen, Fritz

Then down below
Klieman, Littrell, Petrino

Lower
HDN, Smile

Lower yet
Mack Brown

Hell
Satan

Below Hell
Gus

Satan too low on the list, dude is literally such a good recruiter that the world's best selling book is written all about how to negative recruit against him and defeat his pitches

Those who want to win it all do... There are those who see what we and others have gone through, who are terrified of doing less than Gus has.

But, I would say 50% want him gone at this time, just wait until another couple of games..

Biddy within the last hour or so posted on 247 that he is just hearing that Gus and Sexton have been contacted BY ARKANSAS.

He said this shite happens all the time (ad putting out feelers all over) and nothing is solid, but he said his guy told him that there is interest on both sides, even though much of the big money is split on Gus, and that he figures Auburn would basically give Gus away for pennies on the dollar.

I think he would owe (or Arkansas would pay) around $7 miion to poach him. Auburn would likely negotiate a reduced rate.

The line was something along the lines of "its just best for both sides if Gus goes elsewhere."

Apparently the previous Chancellor was fired for giving Gus all that money and new Interim don't play that shite.

I fricking swear, if we hire Gus... I really don't know how I will fully support it. It's not enough for these idiots in the money to just say frick off, you had your chance, you got paid, now go away.

But no, they have some sort of fricking Stockholm Syndrome for this guy that can't win more than 8 games with elite talent and that an entire fanbase wants to rid themselves of, but can't.

It's multi-fold... It hurts your enemy and it helps you having him there. It's like when Belichick wants to trade a guy and these sucker GMs keep falling for it...

Why does this organization always do this kind of shite...
