From a geographical perspective that would look like:
Ark
Texas
A&M
LSU
However wins are also nice for recruiting so
Ark
Ole Miss
Miss State
Mizzou
So maybe something combining those 2 would be ideal
Ark
Mizzou
Texas
A&M
But what we're probably going to end up with will be
Ark
Mizzou
OU
Texas
I really think we need both UT and A&M in the same pod to come out with a recruiting advantage. Or have one in our pod and the other as a permanent rival.
If A&M refuses to be permanent rivals with UT that could work in our favor

What if we got both A&M and Texas on the schedule permanently, and then schedule another Texas school for an annual game. Texas Tech/Baylor maybe?
If we're in a pod with OU we could probably set that up as a neutral game in Jerry World, move A&M to home/home.
We could guarantee a recruit from Texas 10 games he'd get to play in the state of Texas over a 4-year career.

That would be a fun pod

I have heard it was going to be 4 pods, you play your pod and then have 1 permanent cross pod rival. I assume with our luck our cross pod rivals will be Bama, Florida and Georgia.

OU won't do that, because the Red River Shootout is already a neutral site game annually against the Shorthorns in Dallas-FW. Also, I think playing at Jerry World is cool and all, but we shouldn't do it annually. Maybe once every three years or so against a quality OOC team for exposure and recruiting.

This definitely needs to happen, and I believe it will.

I don't think we will set up an annual game against a specific opponent. We need to be fluid in our OOC matchups for fan interest, recruiting purposes, schedule strength etc.

So some years we’d get a decent game between Texas tech, tcu, Baylor etc. then sometimes we can get a little bit more of a cakewalk with rice, smu, Houston, Texas state and utep. That seems like an easy solution to keep more Texas teams on the schedule

Arkansas will always be asked to bend over. Just a fact.
Edit: Sorry, not 'asked', but 'told'.

We need to bid to be placed in the pod that will give us our best advantage for recruiting. Not sure what that would look like honestly.
There isnt one.
I would bet my left nut that the pod system ends up like this:
TX/OK/Miz/Ark
LSU/OM/MSU/A&M
Bama/AU/Tenn/Vandy
FLA/GA/UK/SC
This keeps all the rivalries intact while simultaneously protecting the powers by giving them cupcakes.
Side note: If you dont know who the cupcake is in your division, its probably you....(aka us).

Yep. If they go pods, they’ll most assuredly revolve around these pairs:
Florida-Georgia
Alabama-Auburn
LSU-A&M
Texas-OU
While we complain about getting the shaft, Tennessee is walking in to a new reality with this setup that they’re no longer looking at being considered a top half school.

If the SEC does indeed go to a 9 game schedule then we need not worry about quality of OOC scheduling and instead schedule games that are as easy as possible for us. There’s no need to handicap your season with a self selected loss when you play our conference schedule.

100% this.
We are going to need the big money boys in NWA and LR to step up and start paying these kids via NIL to come here or else we will be screwed.

Looking at the past and the decision making since joining the SEC, we can safely predict that Arkansas will find ways again to fumble another good opportunity.
