Ladie and Gents, with Oklahoma and Texas looking to join the SEC, we can be sure to expect the realignment of our conference. For scheduling it seems as if we will move to a 9 game conference schedule with a POD structure. With that being said which pod below do you prefer and why?

A: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mizzou, Texas
B: Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State.
C: Arkansas, A&M, Oklahoma, Texas

Thoughts?

B is my first preference but I’m sure we’d probably get A. I imagine the one concession they’ll give A&M is that they wouldn’t be in a pod directly with Texas so you put them in B and us in A.

It's going to be A. The SEC network didn't have some intern make up that pod system they showed. They were testing. B would be best for "easy" wins but I like us being grouped with UT/OK/MU. Gives more clout to the "rivalry" with Mizz and will be easy to start one with OK.

Not to mention Texas hate.....every.....single.......year.

What about BWA Pods?

JK, has to be A or B.

C would be brutal.

This is the most likely and I agree with you on B.

POD C would be a disaster

POD B would be a LSU wet-dream

POD A isn't much better or worse than our current situation, except we would have a conference away game that is driving distance from campus.

My thinking is that it will be more on the northern to southern sectioning off. I am thinking more of the below...My reasoning is that now more than ever, the conference has to be broken up regionally.

Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee
OR
Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt
OR
Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ole Miss
OR
Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Miss State

I believe Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma are for sure in the same pod. I believe Texas, aTm, and LSU are for sure in the same pod.

Just my thoughts on how I feel it shakes out.

If the SEC goes to truly a regional pod system...

North Pod: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Vanderbilt
Southwest Pod: LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, Miss State
Southeast Pod: Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee
South Pod: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky

Kentucky is really the only outlier that is far north and technically in a south pod from the above.

For the long term you are correct. If it goes this way then there would defilntily be permanent rivals from other pods. TU-OK, Tenn-AL, etc. How many permanent rivals do you think we would all have?

That would suck for Vandy bad.

I think any of them are gonna suck for Vandy honestly.

This seems like the most obvious option. Tennessee gets relegated to bottom 8 status but other than that is seems fairly even across the board.

That is why I think you will see the current "rivals" stick together from those already in the league(AR/MO, AL/AU, AL/TN, LSU/ATM, FL/GA). OU and Texas will likely be a permanen rival outside of pod play as will the likes of Georgia/Auburn and Arkansas/LSU.

A : Texas, Aggy, Arky, Ole Miss

B : OU, LSU, Mizzou, Miss St.

C : Bama, Auburn, Tenn, UK

D : Florida, UGA, SC, Vandy

I seen this proposed on a Texas forum. I would be 100% ok with this.

Why not Arkansas Texas, Tex A&M, LSU? Oklahoma Missouri Kentucky and Tennessee in another, alabama and Mississippi schools in one, then Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and vandy in the south?

We'll probably get stuck with Bama as a permanent cross pod rivalry.

We need to bid to be placed in the pod that will give us our best advantage for recruiting. Not sure what that would look like honestly.
