That's why he left.
He knew coming to the SEC and more specifically the West would be too much for OU to overcome. Hopefully we can make some inroads out of this situation.

That will never happen. Oklahoma produces too many blue chippers and it’s too close to Texas. The two programs aren’t even remotely close.

OU won't be Nebraska bad, but they will definetly fall into that Tennessee/Auburn area. Both programs recruit around 10-15 and so does OU most years.

Which means they'll lose 2-4 games every year in the SEC. Riley knew this. That's why he left and wanted no part of the SEC. This was basically a once in a lifetime opportunity for Riley and he took his shot.

The biggest kick in the balls to OU will be their inability to pull any more West Coast recruits going forward once Riley and USC keeps all those kids from leaving the state.

This is going to monumentally affect OUs program

Yep

Oklahoma is about to go from a program that makes the CFP every other year, to one that makes it once or twice a decade. That can't be good for recruiting.

If Riley flops at USC can we finally admit him and Ryan Day aren’t great coaches? They are a product of the systems Ohio State and Oklahoma have built since the 60s. The lowest either has finished in conference is 5.

Oklahoma and Texas have nothing to benefit by joining the SEC except financially. They didn't want but needed to join as the Big 12 could collapse. Gone are the multiple conference titles they will win each year and more 8-4 and 9-3 years. Yes they do have Texas recruits but more SEC schools will get more players out of that state now which will hurt them.

They have already having other schools that haven't traditionally recruited Texas come and get the better recruits. It is why they have slipped and the Big 12 competition has closed the gap.

OU fans are totally going to accept going 6-6 every once in a while or 8-4 most years with every once in a while getting 10+ and really competing.

They’re a very rational group. They’re really going to love it when Okie State jumps to winning 10 regularly and making CFP appearances in the new system.

They are impatient and thus they will keep firing coaches like a revolving door.
