Duwop is transferring. Bielema announced that after Senior Day because he walked in the ceremony.

Never mind, just saw Mattingly's tweet:

quote:

Arkansas HC Bret Bielema says Damon Mitchell will take a grad transfer, and QB Ricky Town is looking to transfer to a JUCO.

If I were Duwop, I'd go find an elite DB coach at a lower level and get him to teach me Safety so I'd get ready for the NFL....but he probably still wants to play offense.

As for Town....seems the guy just wants to play now and JUCO is his only option...man what a miss by the recruiting services.

Duwop has zero intention ever of playing safety.

He'll likely look to play QB as grad transfer at lower level.

What a miss by Bert.
We need LB's and O linemen, not QB's

how people still believe Duwop would willingly ever play safety is beyond me

It was a transfer mid season. Not exactly a recruit in the common sense

Of course they were, next QB and next coach always better than the latter.

He may turn out to be a good one yet. He's too young to completely write off.

True.

I think our system was way too complex for him judging by his inability to grasp the playbook. He might do well in a simplistic one-read spread system.

Loading up on QBs is never a bad thing. Everyone knew there were way too many QBs and only one starting spot but competition is a good thing.

Town may be a good QB but he got buried on the depth chart by Storey and Kelley. At least it's the weakest links transferring out.

As for Duwop, he always got a lot of praise during the off-season but never did much during the season.

No better way to fix our defensive issues than to cut loose a few....quarterbacks?

Since Bert has been here we haven't had a legit back up, so yes.
Brandon Allen Starter
AJ Derby Bust at QB, legit TE
Troy Allison Bust
Rafe Peavey Bust
Ty Storey Bust or maybe practice squad QB
Cole Kelly #2 QB in 2017
Jack Lindsey practice squad QB
Carson Proctor ????
Ricky Town Bust
Austin Allen starter
Daulton Hyatt 2017 recruit
Conner Noland 2018 recruit

Bert has a history of not running a 2 QB system, so how many QB's do we really need on staff???

Seems to me we need to shore up the defensive side of the ball instead of wasting time on QB's that will move on and never take a legit snap.
