Going to use more of an Olympic lifting style. These guys know how to powerlift, but we need to develop speed and agility.

I'll be interested to see how many broken feet we have this off-season vs years past.

But in all seriousness, I'm pretty impressed with Carroll.

If a guy needs to put on weight its only going to be lean muscle mass.

Has anyone asked if they have figured out how to give TJ Hammonds the ball?

IIRC Bobby also had a yoga instructor on staff.

I think Brandon Martin will be huge for us this year. He is the only WR on roster over 6'2". Coach morris said before he likes to have a tall WR and Craddock mentions the need to recruit larger WRs.

With all of the subtle jabs at the previous staff, they must have realized that they inherited a shite show now that they are on campus and have been able to evaluate.

I can't remember. Carroll did say we were the only team in the country that does something like this with yoga but he could have been referring to having an actual coach that is certified to teach yoga.

Only SC coach who is a certified yoga instructor. That should win us some games. Much like lifting weights at night on the goal line.

It actually could. Many top level athletes (Lebron, Odell Beckham, Von Miller, among several others) use yoga as a big tool in their training to build flexibility and body control. Basically, Carroll said we were training like power lifters before and we're taking the opposite approach now. I could really see it helping some of these bloated bastards.

I mean, it happened by design thanks to Herb. As a fellow bloated bastard, I feel qualified to speak on it.

Anyone that blasts yoga has never tried it, especially hot yoga. That shite left me sore for weeks

I did yoga for a bit and felt 10 years younger. I also just felt better in general. Now, if the players start wearing yoga pants with Ugg boots I say we shut the shite down.

I just watched Craddock's portion of the introductory press conference. According to him, not surprisingly, it seems like we've got a lot of folks that need to cut weight. Cole Kelley included.

The previous staff's philosophy for designed weight gain was that everyone on the team should do it and they needed to "go eat."

Carroll Tidbits:

Football specific workouts, not making our guys bodybuilders.

Will address mobility issues of team immediately. Will do "prehab" instead of rehab. Focus on workouts on specific issues of a player.

We have a yoga instructor on staff who is also strength coach. Importance of flexibility.

NCAA rules do not allow work next week, will do basic combine testing week after next to assess where guys are at.

Asked specifically about foot injuries Says could be hamstring tightness or shoes, they will evaluate as they go.

Amen to all of this, especially the bolded text.

No more of the body by Herb bodybuilding nonsense.

No telling what our team’s combine testing results will look like, but I can venture a guess that they’ll be shockingly awful when they’re leaked.
