Miss State, @LSU, @Bama, Missouri

I said 7-5 before the season and I am sticking with it. Would love 8-4 with a chance at 9 wins in bowl, but just not sure Hogs pick up a road win. Pittman is still a recruiting class or two away from getting quality depth, which was oh so evident in yesterdays second half.

Two years ago, we were coming off an arse beating to Western Kentucky and in the midst of the worst conference losing streaks in program history. Today, the Hogs sit 5-3.

While we all will bitch and moan about some losses this year, Pittman is doing exactly what he was hired to do. Get the program back to respectability.

We should pick up one win from Moo State, LSU, and Mizzou. We just need one for a bowl game. Two from that stretch would be even better, but just one puts us in a bowl. That would do wonders for the program.

Two years ago we had a legit claim to be the worst P5 team in the country... and one of the worst at the FBS level altogether. Our starters can hang with the big boys unless its Georgia. But the drop off to the second string is like walking off a cliff into the Grand Canyon. That is pretty par for the course during a serious rebuild.

You can scrounge together a good starting team, its the guys behind the starting team where you start to run into trouble. Other than running backs this year for us. I have no idea how we are going to keep so many talented backs happy with their playing time.

The odd thing is if we only win one more it would actually be fewer SEC wins than we had last year but I don’t really care because most people only look at records at face value and it would still look like progress lol

Well yeah but 10 SEC games vs 8. Apples and oranges.

After the past few years I’ll never take an SEC W for granted again

We need 2 or 3 of them for it to be progress this year. There is no reason we can't best all 3 of those teams. Well unless coaching doesn't motivate the players and put them in good positions to make plays and succeed

We can beat everyone left on our schedule. Bama of course isn't likely...and we haven't looked good at all on the road, but yeah...I think if we get healthy and get the mojo back...we'll be no fun for anyone to play.

We SHOULD be favored in every game left other than @Bama, next closest will be @LSU. Only reason we may not be favored by much against LSU is because it's in Death Valley and (hopefully) a night game, but they're very much imploding.

We have a decent chance to go 3-1 the rest of the way and end up 8-4, and I think everyone would be ecstatic with that finish considering where we've been. I would even be happy with 7-5, although that OM loss by 1 point and losing to one of the 3 beatable teams left on our schedule would haunt me a bit.

I think 7-5 is the floor, 8-4 the ceiling. We shall see how we come back after the bye, if we're back to early season form everyone needs to watch out

I wouldn't put the LSU game as a should win category but could. That depends on if LSU gives up as if they hadn't already then our chances are good. If they still have a lot of fight in them then no we will not win that game.
