Green is the guy that hits 40+ home runs but also hits .215 and strikes out 185 times. This offense didn't need that to function.

Bobby's scheme is good enough on its own. I don't know why he thinks he needs a guy that thrives on broken plays.

Doesn't invalidate your argument, but the defense only gave up 45.

That’s a lot.

I asked ChatGPT: What is the average winning teams score in college football this year?

I couldn’t find a reliable source that lists the average winning team score for the 2025 FBS college football season (i.e., how many points teams scored in wins on average).

Here’s some closely related data though:
• The average points scored per game by teams this season spans up to ~44.7 points for the highest scoring team. ?
• Historically, the most common total (combined score) for a college football game is about 55 points. ?

If you like, I can try to dig into game-by-game data for 2025 and estimate the average winning score for you.

So it seems like if you score 44.7 you should win.

Edit:

Got an answer. The average winning score of division 1 games is 31-32 points. As a reminder, we average 34 points a game. Based on the average and our offensive output, we should have 8 wins right now.

Arkansas set the SEC record for most losses by one score or less this season.

Go back the past 5 years and all the one score games and majority of other losses come down to the turnover differential in the game...

Being 2-9 and having a positive point differential is absolutely insane

Think it’s 44 or 45 since 2014.

ChatGPT keeps telling me Nebraska has more at 60 or something.

Yep.

Petrino lost my support by riding TG the entire season. Green is Bobby's biggest bust of his career imo.

Having steady hands and accurate passing in the 4th quarter could have won 2 to 3 games, but he rode that damn horse to exhaustion for whatever reason.

Does anyone know if its a thing to guarantee playing time in NIL agreements?

I look at it like… even with the worst defense I’ve ever seen, we’d probably have 7-8 wins if we had a legitimate QB. I’d be willing to role the dice that Bobby could A) put together a just below average defense. B) go find a better QB.

The recipe is right there. Now buyouts. No huge contracts. Just give Bobby a year or 2 and see what happens

It’s a money thing, why they pushed Ewers out for Manning, could afford keeping him on the bench for another year.

I don’t watch the NFL, but I heard of them keeping the offensive coaches when switching head coaches. I don’t know how that would work, or if that’s even true. If he would have switched to KJ this year, I think a lot of things would be different. Move Taylen to receiver and quit trying to find a track speed QB.

We just did the exact same thing with Pittman.

No.

He literally hand picked Green and the offense has gotten worse since he took over.

Who were his other choices? Were QBs excited to jump on board with a, by that time sitting duck HC?

Not sure why I have to explain to y’all that you don’t have as much control over the program as OC

I am afraid that ship has sailed, but I would take BP with a mid level DC and Defense, with KJ in a heart beat for 3 years...

I thought Pittman was just a CEO coach who deferred to his coordinators
