Two devout non recruiters?
No thanks.

Dan Mullen is getting more mouthy as commentary guy, I don’t think he wants anything to do with modern football until he has no duties other than coaching. If he was promised a GM/recruiter, he might come back.

Odom didn’t even recruit when he was our DC, so no. I don’t want anything to do with him.

Will they after we go to 14? Where Big10 and SEC are pushing for the only two guaranteed spots?

Really all that matters, will be used in every recruiting pitch. Like the Jaden Rashada thing at Florida.

I don’t know anything behind the scenes about this, but do we know HY won’t be a dipshit and make us have the number one womens snooker team with the money?

incarnate ward has been a power though for awhile now. Maybe they’re just good at hitting on young hires, but they’ve had some carryover success from one staff to another.

Easy to be a power when you are the only one in conference spending. Kind of like App State back in the day.

Guess I'd be fine with Odom if he kept BP.

Mullen? We would hate that dude in 6 months. Even if he won, he's the literal worst.

I don't think Mullen is as bad as some think. Was talking to him at a Liberty Bowl function for quite a while. Dude definitely knows football and his time at Miss State is the best that they have been in like... 4ever

Two terrible recruiters together. Won’t even be Walmart line, it will be dollar tree.

Have we ever, in the history of the program, proven we can recruit at an elite level?

Kiffin wasn’t even recruiting at an elite level until they blew it all in one year on NIL and look where it has gotten them?

The only way we’re going to be competitive is someone taking a money ball type approach where you build a system to land and develop mid tier prospects and are able to somehow keep them around long enough to have an impact. You need actual coaches for that and not ra ra Dabo recruiting guys.

Someone will figure this out and I hope it’s us. We’ve kind of proven that this year, but not completely and I think much of the “quit” we see is due to inexperience with player management and bush league favoritism that seems right up Sam’s alley, ala Houston Nutt.

Probably doesn’t mean anything but find it interesting that Hunter’s son is in the athletic department at SMU. Probably has a good idea of Lashlee’s interest one way or the other already.

Arkansas has never recruited at an elite level even when they were a SWC power.

Arkansas was a two point conversation away from winning 10 games in 2021.

Arkansas lost four games by nine points in 2022. A terrible loss to Liberty at home. Win those close games and you're looking at 10-2.

Arkansas lost five games by 24 points in 2023. Terrible losses at home to State and BYU. Win those two games and 6-6 looks better than 4-8.

Now Arkansas lost a very winnable game in Stillwater with three turnovers and seven penalties for 71 yards.

They lose another winnable game with the aggies with three turnovers and 10 penalties for 75 yards.

The LSU game was out of reach but it could have been close but Arkansas had three turnovers and seven penalties for 78 yards. Arkansas has no chance of winning this game if they are focused on beating themselves up.

In the Ole Miss game, Arkansas had less turnovers with two but they had 10 penalties for 95 yards. That just is too many errors in a game to give yourself any chance of being competitive and taking it to the last few minutes of the fourth.

So in four losses Arkansas has turned the ball over 11 times with 34 penalties for 319 yards.

It isn't a talent problem but a coaching problem.

I'd take our current roster with an innovator like Lashlee or Kinne and love to see what happens.

I do think we are at a little bit of a talent deficit on defense but we have the offensive weapons to cover for that, we've been a little to conservative though, I think that's Sam shining through not Bobby.

IDK..... still think Cig is worth throwing the kitchen sink at but not sure he comes unless it's a stupid big offer......

and I know no one likes the Lunney talk.....but........

after the last couple of weeks I'm not in love with his offensive gameplans either... but I think their QB is trash and he's having to work with a lot of smoke and mirrors too.
So for now I'm officially off that bandwagon too

Bobby is kind of conservative compared to what we are used to.

He has always had power backs.
He demands tight route running so he can have slants and tight ends and the dink and dunk plays down the field (Tyler Wilson).
But he isn’t ever afraid to take a shot (Mallett) and our opening TD this season was a shot I believe.

I have a serious question: do you even know where SMU plays? Have you ever been to the area and stadium? To call it a dump is lying at best or jealousy at worst.

We have a national title and a long run of top 10 finishes during the "Golden Age" of Arkansas that says yes.

Will it be easy? No. But it can be done. The question is are we willing to do that? We have the money but if I was a member of the Walton family... well I'd be living in Australia or New Zealand.... but if I had to be here, would I spend my money on the roulette wheel of Arkansas football or on projects I can see real progress on?

Laugh at the billion miles of bike trails but folks love them and you know you're going to get a finished product for your money. Dump 50 million into the football program and there is a good chance you get crap on your investment.

We have to have better coaching that uses the money invested wisely and gets results before the real wealth starts doling it out.

No amount of money will fix the basic fundamentals of the game.

Penalties and turnovers.

Both of those cost Arkansas the OSU and
A&M games and both made the LSU and Ole Miss games unwinnable.
