If Norvell wins this game then he will get big cred in my eyes.

Although, I've said it before, I think the dude is a great coach, and if that's who we end up with, I'll be good with it.

I just think we can do better. I think he is around #5 on my wish list right now.

Didn't Arkansas's defense force two turnovers in a quarter this year against Miss State?

Still frickin lost because the defense sucked otherwise.

Huh? Our offense lost that game. A fumble that got kicked downfield and recovered was our best offensive play of the game.

And Venables is the type that will win MULTIPLE titles somewhere. You heard it here first. It'll be a frickin shame if it ends up being somewhere other than Arkansas.

Then why in the hell would he come to Arkansas?!!!

The fact that so many people apparently dont give a single shite about head coaching experience is crazy. Randy Shannon was once a cant miss defensive mind. Bud Foster has never gotten a HC job. Bob Diaco was a Broyles Award DC and then a disaster as a HC.

You are taking a risk with every hire you make. There's no doubt that the risk with a Venables hire would be his lack of head coaching experience.

However, he has worked for many years under some of the best head coaches in the business. I think it's a risk worth taking.

I mean Georgia just hired an almost identical candidate in Kirby Smart and it paid off bigly for those guys.

I don't know if we can. Norvell may be our best option that will actually take the job. I would be most disappointed with Chad Morris. May be wrong, but I've seen nothing from him to impress me. I'm no coach evaluation expert though.

We could pull Kiffin, Venables, or Leach and they'd all be better.

I guess that puts Norvell at #4 on my list.

Actually, he's still #5 because we COULD go get the guy that started the entire Tennessee cluster frick. Schiano. Lol

Go over what? Kirby Smart was a great fricking hire. And he is almost identical to Venables.

"Career DC! Why hasn't he ever taken a head coaching gig??! He's interviewed for a dozen jobs! He must not be any good!"

SEC title game in year two.

It explodes this narrative of people being bums because they've stayed in one place a long time. Kirby worked under Saban for like 15 fricking years. Lol

I don't wanna pull for anybody. I'm afraid if we got them, it'll jinx them.

If he loses, my opinion of him doesn't change. Have you seen the difference in recruiting areas between Memphis and FLorida.

Man, and this proves that even in Memphis, a Basketball town, in thugville, Norvell can recruit, coach, scheme, game plan, etc.

I am selfish, I want him to lose today so we can get this done ASAP if he comes to Arkansas, and for a couple of other reasons.

Why in the Hail do we have anything about Venables in this thread...

It is about Norvell and the Championship game...

Whoever the coach is, it comes down to who they get as other coaches. Head coaches can only do so much. It comes down to the other coaches.

Ok, make this a bit more clear please... as in other teams coaches or the Assistants, Coordinators, etc?

Maybe when Frost goes to Nebraska, Norvell can convince Mckenzie Milton to transfer here. Dude knows how to play QB with a bad o-line

Only thing I don't like is he's tried to get cute near the goal line twice with reverse passes that failed.
