I would too. Venables is a fantastic recruiter, who has been the best DC in college football for nearly a decade. Pick up an OC in thw mold of Norvell or Kiffin and see what happens.

Although, I gotta admit, in the thread about the top three choices, I went Kiffin first and then Venables.
I think Kiffin has a higher upside on offense than Venables does on defense. And I believe that Kiffin understands full well what it takes to win in the SEC and he would hire a top notch DC.
But I would honestly put them neck and neck. Kiffin or Venables would be home run hires for us.
These other candidates are laughable in comparison.

It's laughable you put venables on the same level as kiffin, Norvell, or even Gus.

Now list for me the SEC teams you see that happening against. It's much more likely to happen to us, than for us. It's a product of the kind of offenses we are watching. Memphis is the windshield in this game. Sometimes they'd be the bug, depending on how smart the QB is.

I've said it a dozen times, man. Don't believe it if you don't want, but Venables has made it clear he won't leave Clemson unless it's for the right job.
I think he puts it out there that he is interested in leaving occasionally just to show certain schools he is on the market. And for leverage with Clemson

Coming in to this game, Memphis is 7th nationally in turnovers gained and 6th nationally in turnover margin. This isn’t some fluke quarter that they’re having.
