Has nothing to do with conferences, all has to do with approach and philosophy

Norvell has a good offense with Memphis and Texas relationships. We could do worse.

This guy doesn't play defense, man. At all. Petrino plays defense. Not very well, mind you, but he does understand you have to have a good defense in order to win. I mean, we could rehash this entire argument, but at this point it's silly. You guys have seen the numbers.

Norvell won't be as good as Petrino was here. But by all means. He's the hometown guy. frickin hire him. Lol

And? It's actually fun to watch, especially compared to pop warners offense being ran really really fast that will be on display later today.

I find it hilarious that our idiots in charge want to go after a guy having success in the AAC after just canning a guy who had even more success in a tougher conference (Big10) that ended up being a failure in the SEC.

I think I get where you are coming from but is the only alternative an SEC coach who has experienced success? Should we target unsuccessful coaches from other conferences?

Bielema was a home run hire at the time. It just didn't work out. Getting a new HC is always a gamble.

Coaches should be hired based on analytics. Which coach has shown he can address you school's needs based on raw data.

You should never hire a coach because you spend time with him on the golf course, at the race track, and think his offense is fun to watch.

We are conducting a frickin bush league coaching search and it's gonna be obvious in a year or two that we totally fricked this thing up. Just my opinion of course.

Yet you would hire a guy that’s never had success anywhere, because he’s never been a head coach

But he's interviewed for 20 HC jobs over the years.

Turned down by ms state most recently.

I get why posters are shitting on Norvell's defense but they also don't want to talk about all those forced TOs.
