Jeff Monken?

We could probably lure him away from Army and fairly cheap at that.

Not sure the triple option would work very well here, it had mixed success at Georgia Tech against an easier schedule, but Monken would most certainly put the fear of God into the players. The man has built his career on hard nosed and disciplined football teams.

Or, to put it this way, Army would probably pound sand in our butt if we played them this year and we have vastly better talent then they do.

We would probably be better off looking at Willie Fritz down at Tulane. He runs a multi-faceted offensive and has spent his career mostly in this area, with stops in Texas and Missouri. Plus he has a reputation for building programs from the ashes.

If the attendance keeps going down, which it wil, the lost revenues will pay for the buyout itself if you actually make a good hire and even get the program back to 6-7 win type levels.

Yurachek is also probably been on the phone with lawyers all season to see if he can fire the guy for cause.

As for the major debt (stadium renovation, etc) that's all financed through construction bonds that are technically on the books, but just in a far different way. I

Is Norvell known as a hard-nosed guy???

I do agree though, the team has nearly a decade of soft arse coaches who don't hold anyone accountable and baby the players, dating back to a Smile. Case in point, Club Dub...which may be more embarrassing than peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at halftime.

Why? If he was so toxic he wouldn’t have a D1 job.

No to Kiffin, I don't think he will make it anywhere.

Litrell, Norvell or Kiffin. 3 guys we could have got, that would be way better than the dumbfrick we have now. Willie Fritz would be a good hire as well.

Why? Let the GOBN, wms fans, and Jerry fork up the money..... they got us into this situation.

If you want Morris gone it's pretty simple.

You don't need a motorcycle and a blonde. All you need is for him to describe the games in little rock as "road games". Have him suggest that it's a waste of money to play in little rock and BOOM - fired instantly.

Wait you ask us for coaching suggestions then tell us who NOT to suggest ? Get out of here with that shite. Skip Holtz lmao.

Then you do not understand what this program needs. It needs a Houston Nutt reinvigoration of sorts. The program needs rejuvenated. It needs a foundation laid. The program has been torn apart and it started with Petrino, then a year with Smile, then Bert, and Chad has finished this thing off.

Holtz has been a consistent winner. Something went wrong at USF, but both of his other stops he has been a consistent 7-9 game winner. He has established the programs and maintained what he built. That is what this program needs right now. Stability and seasons with 6 wins or more.

This team needs a tough mother fricker and for that I'd hire Petrino

Anyone wanting this clown back is a complete and utter moron. He just got fricking fired for winning 2 damn games at Louisville and running that program into the ground. You do understand that the start of this shite storm starts with him right? He could not fricking recruit. He was about to have very down 2012 & 13 seasons. He recruited his own problems here. Hard fricking pass on that all over again.

quote:

So please check your bullshite at the door. Petrino, Leach, Norvell would all do well here.

They all may, but they'll never get that opportunity which is perfectly fine.

You all understand it is not 2011 any longer? The past 8 seasons has seen this program fall to a depth that is not going to be rebuilt in one season, not even two. Hell, it may not even be in a bowl in 3 seasons.

Since the 2012 Cotton Bowl, this program has gone 33-46 with two winless seasons in SEC play and looking at a 3rd. Losses to ULM, Toledo, North Texas, San Jose State, Vanderbilt, and Colorado State. Arkansas has had four seasons with 4 or less wins in that time. Two seasons with 3 or less wins and staring right down the barrel of of a third season of 3 or less wins.

I really like Monken. What he's done at Army is nothing short of incredible.

They'd beat our arse this year and laugh doing it. They're a tough, disciplined team that plays assignment football.

He'd be like Musselman -- not a "wow" hire, but a guy who'd win people over the more they came to know about him.

If Monken did not run the option he'd be the ultimate guy simply because he would whip the team into shape very quickly and give them an edge. Problem is though, nobody is going to hire an option coach now. GaTech did it with middling results. You also can't recruit to it.

If Monken changed systems, then he could maybe get big consideration at lots of big national jobs, but them that's taking away his expertise.

But those service academy coaches also know how good they have it. Football practice for most of those kids is a relief compared to what they experience every day. There's also zero off field issues to deal with. If someone gets arrested or something, the academy takes care of it.

We're also gonna give Chad a 3rd season no matter what unfortunatently. Even if we lose every game left on the schedule.

Not if he goes winless in conference again. With no apparent improvement from year one to two, I doubt we win one next year either.

Agreed, this program needs another BP-type hardass hire.

I said this when we fired Bert, but we need a tough guy to reinstill discipline, knock the bitch off this roster, and give this program an edge we haven't had since 2009-11.

The answer was Norvell two years ago.

The answer is still Norvell.

Which means we have zero chance of hiring Norvell because the people in charge are fricking idiots, as has been proven repeatedly over the past decade.

Jeff Long... That motherfricker.

We're in this situation because Long got fired. Should have kept both him and Bielema. Our program itself is on the brink of collapse because Bert went 4-8 and we foolishly thought we were above that. 4-8 would be a huge fricking improvement now!
