Yep. I’m sure Butch would get top tier coordinators and position coaches.

Butch is a fundamentals type coach. He also knows what speed and strength look like from his time in the NFL and the Hurricanes.

If you haven’t watched any of his press conferences, I suggest you check a few out. Any issues anyone has about his age can be put to rest after seeing them.

Doesn’t have anything to do with being a good coach or not.

Yea, it sort of does at Arkansas.

I think Fritz is a good coach but it would be hard to convince a lot of fans to get behind another coach with a losing record where he’s currently at.

It isn't hard when the guy has had 4 head coaching jobs and has been a HC since 1997. Has a division title at his current stop and has won 175 games over his career. Seven seasons of 9 or more wins.

Fleck, Davis, Miles, Clark, Gundy, Norvell, Kiffen, Leach,

What Fleck is doing at Minn. is astonishing for them, after what he has already accomplished. Davis is Davis...he is success, Miles has Kansas much better in yr.1. Clark has taken a program that committed suicide and has won period. Gundy is a man. Norvell is doing well overall, but a hiccup yester day, correct? Kiffen would be fun at least.. lol. Leach is an odd bird, but tough as nails and beats some he shouldn't and loses some he shouldn't.

Who am I missin?

I’d gladly take anyone off that list. They shouldn’t move off that group until every single one of them tells us no.

Clark is the only one on that list that would be interested in this dumpster fire Rev.

Set your sights lower Rev, and embrace Skip Holtz, Mack Brown, Butch Davis category.

Butch brought in legit talent at NC a few years ago and had them winning 9-10 games.

Obviously, the ACC ain't the Sec west, but he could legit get us back to beating the non-conf. and Miss Schools, maybe the occasional upset versus Auburn or LSU, and consistent trips to the Liberty Bowl.

At this point, that's the fricking super bowl.

Butch with the right coordinators would do better than that.

He recruits well, and has recruiting assistants that do also. We would make the Cap 1, or whatever it is called.

He would prepare us for our next level coach.

I would be all for bringing in Butch Davis, but we wont. We will suck this up most likely. Why? Because Butch had some things happen when he coached at Miami, etc...

Butch Davis is slowly climbing my shortlist the more I learn and remember about him. We need his experience around here more than anything tangible. Somebody that's been there, done that, knows how to coach his way out of it and how to reach different types of kids.

I'm still super impressed with what Bill Clark has done at UAB. He spent his time building them up, the program literally shuts down for years and loses all it's players while Clark awaits it's return, and then he rebuilds AGAIN from complete scratch and reaches success in short order.

To accomplish that at UAB - a school that had no history of success that had JUST shut down it's program for lack of support - is amazing. How'd he even recruit to that? "I know our program could possibly shut down at some point during your eligibility, but we need you!"

Still no love for Les Miles. I just don't think he's the guy for a rebuild like this, and his LSU teams were inconsistent with much better talent.

Norvell is more of a 'first option said no' type on my list, simply because he hasn't had to rebuild. That being said, how much DO we need to rebuild with a Norvell hire?

We have some offensive weapons in place and a dual-threat QB in the wings and young playmakers on defense. His "rebuild" would basically consist of the lines and teaching up KJ.
