DC "Williams" i gurandamntee that with a NIL budget like OM spent, and the upper 3-4 teams in the league, we would absolutely compete.

So without top end recruits Pittman can't coach a kid to follow the snap count and not commit procedure errors?

Would we sttop turning the ball over accidently by trying to make flashy plays or on bad snaps?

At what point and how much money does it take to be able to get a kid to play fundamentally sound football where we don't leave points on the board every game or stop ourselves regularly?

Follow up question how much money would it take to convince a kid to come here and watch his draft stock drop because he wasn't coached up well and prepared for the NFL?

How many coordinators does he have to fire to achieve the desired results with players who aren’t on the level of their opponents?

The better players with decent coaching have the best chance of winning. We can see this on all levels of any sport.

On paper texas should boat race us this weekend, but desire and heart, like in 2021, is all we can hope for. We can’t out talent them. That’s how we beat them in the past, our team wanted it more and overcame the talent gap with want to.

Even our championship team wasn’t talent heavy, they just wanted it more.

Are you telling me we don't have Okie state level talent? Liberty level talent? My issue is that we're missing bowling games because we lose games we shouldn't and losing anytime it gets close.

Close game records to me indicate coaching quality. When the games on the line and we gotta score make a playz call the play, manage the clock and execute my confidence level is 0.

Well of course.

Correct we're not going to be able to out talent a blue blood of college football. No one's complaining or should be surprised about a Texas loss. We regularly can recruit in the top 30 talent wise but we routinely can't win 6 games because we drop ooc games against shitty teams....

We need to find a coach that can inspire investment from our boosters and fans. Field teams that look like they have a game plan and utilize our talent effectively. Make someone feel like they're not paying to ruin a kids football career and cost him a year or more of player development.

Going to a 6-6 bowl game is so meaningless but there's zero chance we don't beat LaTech they are horrible at 3-6 and 0-4 on the road and just lost to Jacksonville State giving up 44 points. It's a freebie that at least now with BP the offense scores at will vs bums.

It's both extra practice and development as well as entitles us to more money..... It's also a great chance to build team moral and a fun trip where everyone gets shite.

Even without the bowl there's no reason we shouldn't be a .500 team minimum each year....

100% agree and if this was Pittman's floor that would be fine.

This is all true it just means even less than before with the high roster turnover rates and guys sitting out. Good for backups and 3rd stringers if they stick around.

Perhaps it's a contributing factor to this high roster turnover....bottom dwelling piss poor teams don't retain talent now.....that's us.

So either we try to compete same as everyone else with less money or we try to do things differently either way no one is taking us serious about being a decent program till we can regularly not have losing seasons.....

Overall your post had conflicting thoughts and honestly didn't arrive at a coherent conclusion at any time.

We will be the 2nd best team Texas has played this year and GA hammered them.

A break or two….and we beat them,

Can we just start with playing a clean game without turnovers and stupid arse penalties

I got an expert on that and the best I can do is 7 key penalities, 1 pick 6 and a fumble out the back of the end zone.

UGA, Bama, OM, Aggy, LSU, SCAR, or Tennessee
outside of South Carolina, everyone of those teams is in the playoff hunt in November. That would be plenty for me
