I’d also start brohofen. Oklahoma kid. His defense and bat can’t be any worse plus he adds power to a game that’s going to be a slugfest.
He should’ve started yesterday, honestly. That’s a miss on DVH’s part. We’re getting nothing from the 9 hole unless we just opt to bunt Gregory every time.

I’d start Wiggins and ear hole the little fruitcake in the 1 hole. Spin him out and get him to do something dumb. Get in their egos right away.

We should be facing mid week level righties today. That’s definitely in Brohofen’s wheel house. Everybody in the stadium including the umps knows Gregory is up looking for a walk or hbp.

I don't want Ramage
I'm gonna be that guy, but he has the one pitch that OSU has struggled with. The slider.
Now I know he has command issues every other game, but when he controls his stuff it's really good.
I'm afraid Zeb would get lit up, because he goes to that fastball A LOT and it gets hit hard. Much like I was afraid of with Wiggins pitching.
I'm not sure how OSU is able to see the ball so well and constantly make contact, but we can't throw fastball very much. They will hit the shite out of it.
I want off speed pitching, FOR STRIKES
If were gonna throw fastballs it has to be outside part of plate. Whomever pitches will have to locate it high or low. But nothing middle in.

That’s actually a really good point.

I hope DVH looks into OSU's hitting coach when Nate leaves. I really like OSU's approach and wish we would do the same.

Exactly how we ended up with Nate from Mo. State

Yeah, Matt Holliday knows a thing or two about hitting. So does Robin Ventura.

Can Noland go Kevin Abel tonight?
You know ole DvH has something real risky and clever up his sleeve!

Literally every dude in their lineup is a stick.
Their 8 and 9 guys have been giving us hell all weekend. It's ridiculous.
We've got 4-5 players in ours that are either a ground ball, K or home run. Nothing in between.

Good ole Matt Holliday. Born & raised in Stillwater and OSU alum.

I didnt look to see who it was. I just really like their plate approach.

Pretty sure they're both coaching for free/fun.
I still don't get our pitching situation. How do we only have 1-2 decent pitchers this year with all this great recruiting?
We always seem to play a team that has a 5th or 6th guy like last night that is a lefty, throws 88 mph and can't be touched and goes 7-8 innings. We never have that guy.
We've been a 2-3 pitcher team for what feels like 5 years.

We scored 5 runs on 11 hits against that guy. That is not someone I would describe as "can't be touched." Most teams don't have the guy you describe above, that's why you see a lot of high scoring games at the end of regionals. To your other point, we shouldn't be in this position with the recruiting we supposedly have. Payton Pallette getting hurt didn't help, but even then we shouldn't even be in the position of having to throw our Friday starter on relief on Sunday

Spoiler alert, it's shitty recruiting.
Wiggins has no business being on this team. Watched the kid in high school, fast ball up in the zone pitcher then and now.

Said this during the game last night, but their lineup is the college version of Murderer’s Row. You can’t pitch around anyone, and every one of them can hit it out. Riggio, Thompson and Doersching are basically Lazzeri, Ruth, and Gehrig.
Their 9 hole hitter has a .309 batting average. That’d be third best on our team (second best until Turner raised his average to .311 this weekend).
They only have 3 guys in their lineup who are below .300 (Riggio, McLean, and Mendham), yet those are three of their more dangerous hitters. Riggio is batting like .700 in this regional with 14 or 15 RBI.
Here’s the other thing — they don’t hit ground balls. At all. Everything is either a line drive, in the gap, or deep fly.

He's exactly the same as he's always been here. It's absurd.
Maybe he has a Campbell moment but I dono. At least we knew Campbell always had a breaking ball.
