Honestly the staff needs Monke to get back to form.

This. Dude has been struggling lately and was our most reliable middle inning eater behind Kopps for most of the season. Noland stepping up has filled the gaps somewhat but if we have to go 4 games again we will need more.

The melts continue

quote:

As much as I hate saying this I'll say it anyway.

I watched DVH's post game. He was specifically asked about having to play against us. His answer was straight honey to the committee. "I know it's a hard job selecting so I don't blame them".. What a piss poor, kiss the NCAA a$$, response. He had the opportunity to stand up for his player, for his former employer, for fans that think of him as the godfather of husker baseball. What does he do? He spits in our face!!!

I for one will be at every Arky game if they make the CWS (hoping they never again make it) and will do everything I can to yell out how I feel. He sold out! He failed the huskers!! He kissed the ncaa's arse!!! He absolutely doesn't deserve any support! None, not even an applause.

quote:

And additionally, he easily could have helped his former player by stating how competitive we were. He easily could have said we played them as tough or tougher than any team he faced this year. He said nothing. Not once did he recognize our players, our coaches or our program. Never, NEVER AGAIN, will I in any way applaud dvh. He sold his soul when he walked away from this program. He closed the door on this state, the fans of this state and players he coached here. HE'S NOT DESERVING OF OUR RESPECT OR OUR GRATITUDE. Just like he bailed on us to Arkansas, he bailed on us last night!!!

quote:

Better than the college version of Mariano. They used him 41% of the innings against us. We almost won a series in which we had to face a guy having arguably the best pitching season in college baseball history - 41% of the freaking series.

quote:

Hoping his use plays into their downfall. I'd be elated to see NC State take it to them.

Van Horn literally said post game he thought Nebraska being sent to Fayetteville was not fair. Why do people make up stuff?

Can you blame them?
Their football team is lower than ours, and that’s bad.
Do they even have a basketball team?
This is all they had.

theres also tons of conspiracy about the strike zone. Some nebraska fan went and found all the k zone espn pictures and tried to spreadsheet it out saying that in the 8th inning, all those balls were actually strikes. fine if you want to go through the effort but how about just re-watching the game? some of those pitches were extremely bad

Considering we missed out on a run earlier in the game because of an awful strike 3 call followed by what would have been a run scoring double, the umps certainly had a weird way of showing they were on our side.

Not to mention, even though Christian Franklin was pretty bad all weekend, the strike 3 calls on his first two strikeouts were very questionable. Especially the first one.

It was a strike all game and their pitchers were attacking the shite out of that part of the zone for both lefties and righties. That bottem left quadrant (for ump and catcher) was the Umps sweet spot.

Slavens and Franklin were getting owned on those pitches, as were most of our players.

Hell, the bleached haired blonde dude was trying to hit that spot and left it high when Chuck sent it into the Soup Factory. 100%.
