I have in confidence in both Bert's ability to hire an amazing OC and my ability to not know who the frick it is.

Coach Bielema had an unscheduled presser a few minutes ago to announce that assistant Sam Pittman has left for UGA. Coach Bielema found out last night. It was Pittman's business decision alone. On why Pittman had no non-compete clause, Bielema said that Pittman said he didn't need one so Bielema took him at his word. Bielema wanted Pittman to talk to the team but he declined. Some linemen are mad, others sad and others both. Eric Mateos with possibly some assistance from Brey Cook may run the O-Line for the Liberty Bowl. Coach Bielema has been contacted by a number of coaches and has a list of 4-5 with 2-3 that have NFL experience. He touted his history to make as good or better replacement choice

well our offense improved a ton after Chaney left. Maybe he's saying our O-line will improve too with a new coach? Only thing I can think of.

doubtful. Pittman was an excellent coach. We're hoping to do about the same at best I think.

Jack Bicknell, Ast. OL Coach w/ Miami Dolphins.

He was the HC at LATech when they beat Bama. He got them into the AP Top 25 for the first and probably only times in their history.

Dolphins are cleaning house.

He was behind Anthony Castonzo's development at Boston College. Not sure about his personality but if he was able to get athletes at LATech to get them to top 25 level he's probably good enough at recruiting.

kugler is a UTEP alumni, so I don't think he is just waiting to get out. he basically gushed about us and our program. said he wanted to pick out coaches brains.

Seems like every time he's had to make a change, it's been a change for the better.

If you HAVE to make a change, turn it into a positive and make it a change for better.

I'm intrigued by Georgia Southern's OL coach. He's still young and pretty green so idk if Bielema would go after him, but he has experience recruiting Georgia and Tennessee and they have had a dominating running game with that option and played some SEC teams really close.

The only thing I don't like is the last time we hired an OL coach from a different offense like that was Klenakis from the pistol at Nevada

Kugler had nice things to say about Bielema after our game with UTEP. He mentioned that he'd like to talk to Bielema about how he runs his program.
