And yet their second year coach took them further in the NCAAT this year than our’s did.

And we’ve still got a long way to go.

Just being the best we’ve been in awhile or better than Stan Heath and John Pelphrey isn’t good enough..... for some of us anyway.

It all boils down to expectations. The feel-good generation loves their participation trophies. Making the tournament or not having a losing record? That's the only barometer they have. They don't demand excellence, which is why they are happy with MA. If we want to be a better program, we shouldn't rest on our laurels and just HOPE we get "lucky."

MA is a lazy coach and he has no interest in being the best program in the nation. He's given up on that, if he ever aspired to it at all.

can we not just be somewhere between omg mike is the best and meltcity? that's where I stand.

he rebuilt us and while I too wish we would have done better, i think it'll be infinitely easier to hire a coach if we don't try to form a lynch mob to get him out of town after the rebuild.

Quotes like these are why people don't take your basketball talk seriously.

It's not an all or nothing situation. Every coach wants to be as great as can be. Mike was just bitching on the radio the other day about getting a shitty seed. If you don't care then you don't gripe about things like that.

The fact is Arkansas has never been great without great regional talent. Mike and his staff are either unable to get those types or they aren't available in the numbers that they once were.

If they are available, changes to the staff to get some better recruiters and we need some boosters paying so that we aren't losing the Reggie Perry's of the world.

Only 4 people from the 94 team were from Arkansas and only one was a starter.

Mike has gotten PLENTY of talent not only from Arkansas but surrounding states since he's been here. More than enough to win more than 2 games in the tournament. That's even including the massive prospects he completely failed to keep home.

I sincerely hope you're not really going to sit there and say that Arkansas, Memphis, St. Louis, etc. aren't producing enough talent for Arkansas to win.

I'm pretty sure that you know what regional means. If not, let me know.

Maybe you didn't read my entire post?

I'm rather certain that I typed more than what you referred to.

And all of it's bullshite. You can't blame lack of recruits when Mike hasn't even been able to pull in the top kids from our state more times than not. You want to make changes to the staff but not touch Mike. So you acknowledge that they haven't been getting it done but would rather blame it on assistants than Mike. It's unreal the level of denial some people are reaching.

I can read, which is why I wonder WTF only 4 players being from the state of Arkansas has to do with what I posted.

I'm pretty sure that I didn't say "in state".

Show me where I blamed lack of recruits, and quote the entire paragraph.

I see that you edited your paragraph... We aren't firing Mike are we? No, we aren't... So what else can be done? Change assistants.

So you agree that we've never had a great team without getting regional talent. Good.

Mike’s not about to change assistants.

He reshuffled last time swapping Scotty and Zim.
