It's a small thing, I know, but gets on my last nerve when the Hogs play in Little Rock/North Little Rock and we can't watch/listen for whatever reason.

I'm also confident the game clocks at War Memorial are malfunctioning as I type this.

playing in NLR in baseball/basketball is a non issue. Plenty of home games in fayetteville.

I do wish it was televised.

No one (except for some rich donors) wants to play there in football anymore. That has been over for 10 years

So fans in south and east Arkansas who would like to take their family to a Hogs game are no one? Not everyone is as fortunate as you I guess.

If not for these games many lifelong Hog fans would never get to see the games live. That’s why Frank played these games, he wanted all fans involved.

Man I totally get it. I’m from south arkansas. The only games I got to attend were in Little Rock.

That said, things have changed. Playing in that stadium is now a major disadvantage in the recruiting arms race that is the SEC. DWRRS can hold 30k more. Getting to NWA is not that hard anymore. If you can afford to buy tickets to WMS, you can afford the gas to go the extra distance. If that amount of money is going to break you, you shouldn’t be going to games in the first place.

This isn’t about me. But you enjoy your riches I guess and shut people less fortunate out.

Does Fayetteville sell out all those OOC games? I see no problem playing uapb, uca or some other Arkansas team in Little Rock. The conference games should be in Fayetteville though.

It’s just a fact that many who want to take their children to see the team can do the round trip to Little Rock but can’t do the overnight trip to the hill.

Some churches take busses and such.

Btw, I took my son to his first game in Little Rock which was our last game against texas in the SWC. Great memory and he’s a die hard Hog fan now, it began that game.

I’m not trying to be an ahole, just pointing out it means something to other people. I do realize it won’t last forever though.

I want to be so sympathetic to this type of rationale, but…. Are there any other schools that do this?

Agreed. The 1st live razorback game was at WMS, and the rich dude with all of the Christmas lights had a BBQ deal for like 5 bucks, Half a chicken, some beans, slaw, bread, dessert, drink. My wife and I loved the game, the atmosphere and the tailgate. Bought season tix the next year.

WIthout that experience, i seriously doubt I would now be a yearly donor with 10 tix each year. FWIW.

Keeping LR basketball game is crucial especially during winter break for students. Most are back home in central Arkansas anyways. But I don’t care what it takes find a way to either make the game television friendly for ESPN or find a way to get a one game clause in the contract to allow us to stream it.

This is literally applicable to every school in division 1. Churches bring busses to literally every D1 football game. We are the only ones deemed heartless bastards for not wanting to lose home games over it. How about those folks just be grateful for us keeping it going as long as we did (decades after it stopped everywhere else)

Also-how many of these folks who "can't drive to Fayetteville" go down to Florida for Spring Break? It isn't the matter of a few hundred extra dollars or an extra day

It truly does mean the same to me. I was a WMS supporter longer than most. It’s just too detrimental to the program to keep playing there at this point.

No because of the costs, revenue loss, and recruiting disadvantages

Man, I'd forgotten all about Jennings Osborne. That was a charitable cat.

We’re talking about different people apparently. But be your extra money self and the hell with everyone else I reckon.

Frank made this program about the entire state, but Jeff long said screw that. I guess the jeff fans want their way now.

Frank Broyles was the one who slowly began the process of having all games be in Fayetteville after the expansion in 2001.

we absolutely should play two or three games in the NLR venue

include an SEC game in one of the three

the sheer number of games in a season makes it a no brainer

Simple. Play a ranked opponent. Bama vs Gonzaga was in Birmingham today and on CBS.

The fact we still play in LR in football is so fricking stupid at this point that I don't even care anymore. I've realized as I've gotten older that we have zero chance of ever winning a Natty until they expand the playoffs by a lot, like 16 or 32. At that point we'd have a 1% chance of getting lucky match ups, injuries etc. to go our way to maybe...maybe make the final 4. We aint ever beating two of the best four teams back to back so just forget it. Life's too short to care beyond just going to have fun at a Razorback football game. Enjoy what you get and move on. There's still hella arse to look at and that's enough my friends.

I grew up in Magnolia and have never understood the argument of it being difficult to get to Fayetteville. I did enjoy the Little Rock games, but that ship has sailed. The stadium atmosphere is light years ahead of WMS at this point.

On a side note, I’m not spending any money on going to a game. I live in Mississippi. When the hogs come to Starkville or Oxford, my arse is staying home. I have a family of 5. I’d spend a smooth grand going to a game in tickets, gas, food etc; not to mention the traffic and other BS I’d have to put up with. I have a big arse TV in front of my chair and one by my grill with an ice chest full of cheap beer to numb my mind to the shitty product we put on the field.
