Yeah that’s definitely a guy that isn’t going to be back next year. He danced all around that question.

I want to see what Razorbronks is hearing after Monday night and see if what I heard today, along with what I might hear Monday jives.
I will be around some folks tomorrow through Tues morning and interested in hearing from them.
Is Sugtown still around LR?

I can’t wait to hear what you’ve been hearing from others that have been hearing things.

Me either.
Is Norvell pronounced like Orville or like do tell? Because if do tell, I’m gonna start chanting Norvell or go to hell.

Yeah, too far removed to really matter...

No I was being completely serious but having some fun with it. I truly do appreciate what you guys bring to the table.

So is this the guy we are hiring? Anybody know what his offense looks like? I hear it's a bunch of bubble screens.

What’s funny is that Rev is my source, and I turn around and give that info to my FIL in the DFW area, who likely passes it on to friends and/or coworkers.
Rev doing the Lord’s work in Dallas and he doesn’t even know it.

Most of their 2017 games are on YouTube so you should be able to get a good idea of what their offense looks like if you go there.

Went and watched the ucla game. Not seeing a ton of bubble screens. Lots of misdirection, with running back screens attached to them. Deep passes. Lots of RPO's. It is not quite the frost/chip Kelly offense that is a super hardcore triple option RPO spread, but it has some similarities. Would be fun to watch. Defense seems suspect.

I’ve been hearing about people reading about hearing things from others that have been hearing stuff that they’ve been reading or hearing.

Cuz we haven't played defense in 20 years?
Kieth Burns anyone?

He has a great offense, and he might just be the best special teams coach (in terms of HCs who play the role) in the country as well. Just need him to hire a SEC level DC.
One of the knocks on Malzahn when he was a candidate in 2012 was that he was an offense first guy who would have bad defenses. His first DC hire was Ellis Johnson (who had great defenses at USCe), and he’s followed him up with Boom and Steele. Hopefully Norvell would do the same.

I haven't seen much of Memphis play, but I've eheard multiple times the D needs work.
My question is, is the D bad because of the offensive system he runs, (think Chip Kelly at Oregon) or does he just not care about that side of the ball?
Yall are right about Gus, he knew he had to play some hellatious Defense to win tbe SEC, plus he has the talent to do it.
I also think that's why he doesn't run nearly as much tempo anymore like he used to... It just depletes your defense so much if you don't hit first downs

He believes in hiring a d coordinator to run the defense and allow them to run the defense.
Auburns defense is great this year (it hasn't been in years past) it's full of sr and jr contributors and like one sophomore, same with his o line.
Sooo he's on the Houston Nutt plan off having a good year once every 4-5 years when you have a team of upperclassmen, but he is doing this with top 5 recruiting classes not top 30 like Nutt.
Gus would be a disaster here, worse than Nutt on par with Bert and I'm sure he is looking to move on after this season and losing most of his team to graduation after being on the hot seat most of the year. Let some one else be his ole miss retirement plan, not Arkansas.
