Why pay for a worse version of TD. Jjdoc was doing the exact same thing!

I figured more outlets would be popping smoke on this if true.

The national media won’t comment on it until the deal is done.

I have seen national media report rumors about coaching searches before though.
Man, I am pissed that this is even a thing following the past two years. Not sure who I am pissed more at. HY or KB.
Briles should be making what Odom was at least. He was more successful here period. If we low balled, damn! again... DAMN!
But if he keeps this crap up, send him with a box of STD's! lol

Can someome fill me on why we always seem to be low-balling key staff members?
Is this all b/c of Hunter's "vision" of not paying ppl or does the university AD truly not have the funds to up the assistant salary pool for these guys an extra couple million in case of something like this?
I was always told Arkansas was flush with cash and we are in the richest conference in College sports. So why do we always seem to be haggling over salaries? It's not like 3/4 of the schools in the country aren't already operating at a Loss, anyway...

Because we are not serious about winning football games

Love briles, thinks he’s a great OC, I think after pittboss leaves in a few years he should be a guy we look at for the top gig, but hopefully we can still get someone respectable if he does leave for tcu. I’m guessing it’s something more about coaching in Texas for him. If he turned down multiple sec schools and freakin Miami it’s not just about the prestige or money, dude may just really want to coach in Texas.

This board melts down with the best of them based on rumors and message board sources.

Texas people fricking hate that guy though. Melts all over for even considering him.
quote:
If TCU hires Kendal Briles, it's hard to ever view that athletic department or its administration the same again. Everyone in the Big 12 and the state of Texas knows the things he said and did at Baylor. Endangering student safety for the sake of some wins is never a good choice.
quote:
I will say I’ve learned a lot in the last 24 hours and I am shook by what I read about Kaz. I’m disappointed that we’re even discussing Kendal Briles, but I’m genuinely curious why we didn’t freak out about Kaz?
quote:
Good afternoon.
Another day here on the bird where it’s still a kick in the collective fanbase nuts for @TCUFootball to have the audacity to hire a Briles
quote:
Thinking more about it, it’s not JUST that he Briles kid or worked at Baylor. It’s that me, as an individual, and the Frog fans collectively as a fanbase all decided that the way Baylor handled every bit of rape scandal was wrong and immoral.
Now to turn around and hire someone who was literally on the staff seven years later because we’re desperate for a worthy OC?? Piss on that — there are other people who can run a spread offense. And I’d rather not be made a hypocrite by TCU itself.
quote:
Of all the programs in the country to hire members of that family, TCU would have been last on my bingo card. As would Oklahoma, but well, yeah

Honestly sounds like half this board when I suggested we hire him in the first place…
He is tainted forever for what his dad did..
Hell half the morons in razorback groups on Facebook said they didn’t want Kirby after his pregame speech from the national championship was released. Too many curse words…

No. Kirby is like 47, and I can see him doing another 25 years at a high level at his Alma Mater…

“What his dad did”
He was the effing OC man. You really think he didn’t know what was going on?
Not going to pass moral judgment but dude was right in the thick of it.

If Jeff lebby can still coach and be an OC i don't see why kendall can't.....
Jeff was named and actively worked with art to cover this shite up.... It always seemed to me like art was ok burying the son in law but not Kendall.
