That’s kind true. Except it’s more like after every year they are going into a contract year. But once they sign a new contract (team) they are stuck for pretty much ever.
The Salary cap part is what lane Kiffin and Saban have been talking about. Which I agree there should be a cap, but how do you do that? How can you tell someone, Nike wants to offer you $10m a year but that violates our team contract and we would be over cap.

Briles is rumored as a candidate for the now open South Carolina OC position. That along with him being mentioned as a HC candidate at FAU.

An alleged “insider” on 247 said this morning that Kiero Small will be the S&C hire. Apparently he was in yesterday to interview.
May have to bust out the OG Kiero pirate avatar again if that were to happen. He’s one of my all-time favorite Hogs.

portal guys from D1 get offered new scholarships at lower levels, period, as long as they don't have bad reputations
it's easy to throw around the word "lazy", as I did, but it's not prideful.
playing college football is a grind. You wake up with not enough sleep, starving to death because your metabolism is through the roof, you shower and run and eat and try to stay awake in class all day, maybe get a 45 minute nap before practice and then grind through practice. Your energy returns running to dinner and you scour the campus for girls for as many hours as you can after that, then drop back in bed and do it all over again
once you've quit for a little bit, it's too easy to say you're never going through that again, and you stay quit
