McAdoo has All-SEC and NFL potential at CB.
Hope he stays where he's at.

Don't know why he'd ever move back now. Look how long a decent DB can stay in the NFL. Top corners are almost as rare as top QBs, whereas the football world is filled to the brim with WRs and wannabe WRs.

I know one thing, our two corners are the type you build a defense around next season. We're fortunate to have two very capable ballhawk CBs that both love laying the wood and jumping routes
It looks like we have a solid crop of young LBs too, we just need safety help pretty desperately. I could see next year's defense actually being a solid unit by Arkansas standards if we could add just a couple pieces and some depth at DB. We really needed Slusher to stay.
Our offense looked good against Kansas with the pieces coming back, we just need a bigtime WR threat and a TE. TE looks like it could be taken care of with this incoming class, they need to hit the portal hard for some WRs with size and speed. They can take some that are rough around the edges as long as they have the physical build to be an SEC WR, then hit the training regimen hard over the off-season. We just need that ONE guy that can go up for 50/50 balls over the opposing DBs
I mean, we took a dude that had the measurables and 300 receiving yards from Toledo last year, and made him into an 800 yard - 7 TD wide receiver in the SEC this year. We need to find the next Matt Landers, and then take two or 3 of them.

Well hog fans, you had John L…then Bert….then Left Lane Hammer Down High School Coach Guy. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
The following commentary is from my good friend Mike Irwin…..
When you've done a job as long as I have (47 football seasons) it might seem that there is not much you haven't seen before. These days that notion is absolutely untrue.
Never in the 153 year history of college football has there been anything like what is going on right now.
Players transferring in mass at the end of the regular season, the open poaching of players with NIL offers through the portal, coaches getting new jobs and taking players with them.
Throw this into the relatively new December period for signing high school seniors, juco and portal transfers and we have a challenge for coaches approaching bowl games not seen before. In some cases it's just short of chaos.
I have always been amazed at the job Lou Holtz did for the '78 Orange Bowl, engineering a win over No. 2 Oklahoma minus three key suspended starters.
Sam Pittman lost six starters and many other players to the portal and opt outs. His defensive coordinator and his tight ends coach left for other jobs.
While trying to get his team ready for the Liberty Bowl Pittman had to hit the road with some of his coaches to make in home visits to keep committed recruits from flipping to other teams.
While this was going on the Internet went wild with rumors. Pittman was in over his head, some fans complained. Coaches were leaving him because they could see that the program was going backwards. The same with the players who were leaving.
Rumored replacements for Barry Odom and Dowell Loggains were attacked as proof that Pittman was about to make bad hires.
Some of these same fans predicted that Arkansas would have a small crowd at the game and that the players would offer little motivation.
Behind the scenes Pittman quietly did his job. He and his staff put together a mix of veterans and talented young players and got them ready to play.
Seniors and rookies told us, don't worry. We are unified. We are prepared and we are totally committed to winning this game.
They weren't blowing smoke. In front of a large crowd in Memphis, for two and a half quarters, Arkansas dominated a Kansas team that was relatively untouched by portal transfers and opts outs.
The Jayhawks had closed the gap some by late in the game but Arkansas was set to win comfortably until two bad calls provided Kansas with a path to possible victory.
When I think back on the way Pittman, his staff and the players responded to what was nothing less than complete breakdown of the video review process, I am amazed. While much of the fan base recoiled in anger and disbelief, the team stayed focused, actually winning the game twice.
Considering the cirumstances, to me, it was one of the most remarkable wins I've ever seen.
To those who filled social media with predictions of failure and complains that Pittman was in over his head, his response to the chaos of the past couple of weeks is proof of just how wrong you were.
Arkansas won the game in spite of a horrible officiating. The 2022 recruiting class is still the best in years. He's off to a solid start in portal replacements.
He hired one of the top young defensive coordinators in the country who happens to be an aggressive recruiter. His new tight ends coach has a history of recruiting and sending players to the NFL.
Not up to the job? Are you kidding me? A man three years into his time as a major college head coach comes across to me as a supreme juggler. A multi tasker of the first order and a great leader of young men. Cool in the face of pressure.
Hunter Yurachek knew what he was doing when he hired Sam Pittman.

Mike wrote a beautiful college essay to say the same thing I’ve been saying in much more clear and concise terms the last few days:
Arkansas fans obsessed with bashing Pittman are DUMB AS frick.
I wish the mods here would just take out the trash, but if they don’t I’ll be showing up here every day letting them know they are DUMB AS frick.

Don’t disagree with most of what he said but Mike Irwin is a total hack and not good company to keep.

Looking like we have a bit cat weekend full of visits starting late next week and through the weekend. Wonder who will host the players.
I'll never forget tracking DGB's every move while here.

What a bust that was.

Irwin's incessant curmudgeonly pissing and moaning in his TV spot about "paying players" and equating NIL to "cheating" is divorced from the reality of modern college football.
He's good for historical stuff, but his read on current goings-on is stuck in a bygone era.

Irwin says a lot of good things but doesn't address the elephant on the room. We lost to LIBERTY and MISSOURI.
No excuse for either

A healthy KJ makes a huge difference.
Now, you can blame Sam for not having a bonafide backup QB if you wish...

The reality is that programs are 'cheating' and 'paying players'. It has been going on for a long time, it's just out in the open now. BTW, 'modern' does not mean 'better'.
