Franklin

Anyone saying Franklin or Gruden doesn’t actually watch football. They are just naming big names others have said.

But Franklin won at vandy and gruden won a super bowl.

The names Dinardo and Dilfer mean nothing to these people.

Sure everything looked better than Norte dame. But CBP is auditioning for the job. Another close lose doesn’t move the needle. We need to get past just playing respectably. That’s what Pittman mostly did and it was acceptable just because Chad Morris was so terrible.

Absolutely. We’re probably the worst team in the league and beating bama makes their season. I know some tenner fans. They’d much rather lose to us than bama.

Judging by the trash talk and altercations pre-during-post game by the tenner players, they did indeed give a shite about the game.

They’re in the mix for a playoff berth.

Zero chance they were over looking us after the close call with MSU and a bye week.

Holding the bar that high for BP is BS. They played much better and @TN was an L before the season anyway with this roster.

Suddenly saying we should have won that game is dumb.

We should be 3-3 with this roster right now and I’d put $1000 up that BP never loses the Memphis game.

I saw the same team I saw against Ole Miss last night so I'm not sure what effect he has had yet other than giving them a soft reset. Going to take more time to see if he still has it.

Unless we are ready to be a serious program and start competing for championships Bobby is by far the best choice right now assuming he keeps the team playing hard.

The fanbase believes in him enough to give some decent NIL and attend games for a few years.

As I mentioned in another thread.....outside of some crazy home run hire that isn't gonna happen, hire BP and give him one hell of an NIL budget. With the money we can save by hiring BP, throw that $ back into the coaching staff.

And this is what I was looking for, as well at St. Louis, and Chesh, and man...

THis is the answer. I had pride watching that team of miscreants and misfits play as well as they did, Yes... It was a loss, but what a loss it was. AND NO< I AM NOT ACCEPTING LOSSES.. I am looking for improvement overall. He definitely didn't lose the team, he yelled and showed that old BP fire. I hope like heck, that he beats tamu, MSU, Mizzou, Auburn, and Texas...

Would be hilarious, and just throw LSU in there as well. lol.

I do not expect it, but I do expect to beat a few and show improvement. WPS!

Positive cheap.

Negative- hasn't done anything in about 10 years.

Is irrelevant to recruits in 2026.

Cannot hire an SEC caliber staff no matter what the assistant pay is.

Will lose 3/4 of the team to the portal at the end of the season.

The Tenn game was no different than the Ole Miss game, imo. Lost by a FG on the road to a highly ranked team, and avoiding critical turnovers could've saved us.

Exactly. If Pittman was on the sidelines this game the narrative would be he can’t win the close games.

Just seems like fans are being gaslit to think CBP is a great hire no matter what. When in reality it’s probably just taking the easy cheap path. There need to be pressure on administration to make a great hire and not settle for the guy that wants the job because we’re his only option.

Now if CPB legitimately turns it around and wins 4 or 5 more than he’d probably have earned the job.

Except the major difference is Pittman has been in charge of this team for almost 6 years. Petrino had one bye week to prepare for #12 on the road after gutting the defensive staff.

That's not an apples to apples comparison at all.

Ill add one more to your list.

It saves Cuckachecks job as well since he hired Bobby. That way they don't repeat what was done to Long and Bert.

This will be the narrative thrown out by the talking heads and probably the university.

All things you could have said about Pittman. But his offense is SEC caliber right now. The defense, isn’t d3 quality and that’s on Pittman.

The 3/4 hitting the portal, that was gonna happen no matter who we hired or if we kept Pittman. All the good ones will be poached by Ole Miss.

The biggest problem with Bobby is and has always been his ego, and hiring him will feed it. Can’t tell him nothing, got hired quit and rehired at two schools? Has to be the only one who has done that.

Quit? I mean, from Louisville to the NFL with a Protege Qback (dog killer, but...) yeah... don't blame him.

and His pride/arrogance... sure. Kind of a trait we want, right?

Not sure. He might be great or could be a bust. He will be better than we have had. And the team won’t be making dumb mistakes, we won’t be tripping over our dicks, and the offense will hum.. we will need a top 30 dc, if we are to be successful. And a good GM that is football only. We can’t have two basketball GMs doing all our contracts. Especially after Cal was like I am my own GM. Fire the two Celtics guys.

All this applies to Merlins as well… and he is only 50ish compared to 64.. and no coach has won a championship over 64 that hasn’t previously won one.

Gotta tell ya man, if this is your only goal. Find a different hobby! I was naive once. J/K!

But the point remains. Pitt took us from complete and utter embarrassment to Mehh, ok now.... what's next.

If BP can take us from Mehh, OK now... to, 8-9 wins, playoff every 3 for 6 years... I am in! all in, but with the Ohio States, ND, and upper echelon SEC teams... doubtful, very doubtful on ever sniffing a nc in football

The Walton's could change the direction extremely fast, but it wouldn't be with Bob as coach.
