You want more money from the fans...
How about you hire someone the fans can get excited about.
This pattern of hiring the guys that nobody else wanted is NOT WORKING. SO WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO SIGN OFF ON IT.
The thing that really pisses me off, along with a few others on here, is that we had a guy that WANTED the job. Not only that, but he knew the territory that came a long with it. Oh and he happens to be the best football coach this program has had in my 39 years on this earth.
He would have cost less than this abomination of a coaching staff we currently have. Our offense would have been productive, and given the same amount of NIL I guarantee the defense would have been better. People forget he had some quality defenses when he was the guy here.
If it's so hard to get a good coach to poor little Arkansas, the answer was staring these decision makers right in the face, and they still made the wrong decision.
It's hard to care anymore. So much incompetence at the spots we need leadership.
Regardless I'll be in Nashville with 12 of my friends. What's disappointing is that whether we win or lose that specific game I wont even care because they've destroyed any joy I once had for the football program.

Should we even continue the football program at this point? I’m not sure I’ll watch another game. Last night did something to me. The last 15 years has been unbearable.

BOT and AD are both incompetent. I truly in my hearts of hearts believe they wanted to destroy football.
I guess they want to focus on bike trails and art.

They're sitting here asking fans to spend more money, and giving us no reason to spend that money.
Are they that fricking stupid?

They spent massive amounts of money updating and upgrading stadium lights for a program that will have played only daytime home games 2 years straight and counting...

They have no boosters. Until WalMart decides to care and get involved nothing is going to change, even Silverfield said this, and WalMart ain't comin'.
There is no future for Arkansas football without money for players in this era. Boosters or fans or a nice combination of both.
No decent coach is taking the job without serious NIL commitment. But if there is no money, there is no decent coach, there is no future.
Calipari gets the money, gets the players. Would not have taken the job at all if not for Tyson and the hoops program was in a pretty good spot post Muss, not a disaster mess like football. DVH bitched all season about money and found some boosters to commit serious money for years to come to put us back into the top of the NIL game and immediately get top players again.

We paid more for our roster than Utah’s. Same for Virginia. Same for I’m sure a few more teams that would beat us by 40. Nil is part of the issue but it’s not the only issue

That may be true but Utah also only lost 7 contributors total to the portal whereas we replaced damn near our entire roster so naturally we spent more we had to buy 46 players or whatever our portal total was, 2nd most in the nation. That's another thing we've had the last several years, massive roster turnover with schools raiding us for our few good players easily. Hell Kiffin was mocking us as his farm system.
We're still 13th in the SEC in NIL for 2026. $100K ahead of Kentucky at 14th and $1.5M behind Vanderbilt at 12th.

We waited too late to take the NIL seriously fire sure but the program was gone long before the NIL.

Did you even watch the last two games?
This isn’t a talent, cohesion, time to gel here and there thing. Or we just ran out of steam down to the wire.
We struggled massively against a ridiculously terrible borderline D2 team and got absolutely curb stomped by a team that spent 25% less than us on their roster. Utah’s defense is absolutely nothing special and it was 43-3 in the 4th quarter.
The entire scheme, preparation and everything about this team looks god awful. That has nothing to do with the past, our NIL comparison with the SEC and turning over a roster.
Last night looked as bad or worse than peak Chad offense. New scheme aside, if you even want to call it that, how many teams have a 3 year 4 star QB in their program? Let alone one that looked that absolutely horrific last night?
Oh yea, and the guy they brought with them and paid for who red shirted in their program from Memphis, is so bad he can’t even win the job? Also a 4 star and decently ranked recruit.
Absolute incompetence to the highest degree.

The past two games look a exactly like watching Memphis the past few years.
Hunter supposedly watches more ball than anyone for the committee. He saw this at Memphis, he liked it so much he went and got it.

quote:this is what I’m most perplexed by. We’ve seen kj not suck. At least not like this. At least we were competitive last year against mizzou when he started. Same with the offensive line. We’ve got 2 starters who returned from last years line and they both look horrible along with the rest of the line

Let’s face it….all we have is the Tyson Foods basketball team until JT gets tired of it or Cal retires.
DVH has enough cred to land competitive but not championship teams. Thats about it and I still don’t think it matters who we hire for football….because nobody will take the job.

That isn't what the stats showed.

Utah has a very good chance of going to the playoffs.
There is most definitely a talent issue any recruiting service will tell you that, and cohesion/gel for sure too this roster had 84 player moves total in one offseason out of 105 roster spots, that is insane. You act like this team wasn't picked 16th by everyone with a Vegas win total of 4 games. Are you really that surprised they are performing about like what everyone predicted them to?
There are a lot of things bad about Arkansas football. Coaching, money, talent.

Rhett Lashlee took the SMU job, Cignetti took the Indiana job.
If we truly don’t have the money, fine. But it has nothing to do with the program if we are willing to pay and back the coach.

Both were unknowns up and comers at the time of the hire.
Hunter prefers to go out and get the sure thing. If you ever wondered how Memphis would do with an SEC schedule, you're finding out this season.
Ignore the lessons taught by VT and FSU in this, Hunter was front and center on his knees begging in a one man line to get him some of that.
