"KeVaughn Allen has reasons to play well against Arkansas"

I hear this every time we play Florida. It's just bullshite. Arkansas recruited him hard out of high school. Billy Donovan got him to sign. Billy Donovan left and Allen had the opportunity to sign elsewhere. Arkansas began recruiting him again. He signed with Florida a second time. He has no reason to be "angry". He wanted out of Arkansas and he got his wish. He wasn't "wronged" by Arkansas. He has nothing to "prove".

Him and Malik Monk can take their motivation and shove it up their arse. Arkansas did absolutely nothing to either of them other than desperately recruit them. Both of them burned Arkansas and Mike Anderson over and over.

Yes I did post this in the game thread, but I thought it would appropriate for it to be discussed here

You're right about everything you said. The reason for the animosity is our dipshit fans who harassed them on twitter.

Agreed. I'll never understand grown arse adults harassing high school kids on Twitter. Hell, most of our sports teams include mostly out-of-state kids I'd think. Where's the outcry there?

I think the difference is we are a unique state like Nebraska where there is only one game in town whereas kids in other states have dozens of options already anyways.

LSU fans freak out in similar fashion

KeVaughn Allen 7-1 vs Arkansas and lit up Mike for more than his average in nearly every game.

Allen, Monk, Goodwin, others, and more to come chose other programs than Arkansas for reasons that were outlined in this thread: NBA Scouts weigh in on Razorback players

Honestly, I can't blame them.

Some of the hate directed at KeVaughn Allen is fairly unwarranted. Probably moreso that he’s lit us up every game.

A good friend that played at N Little Rock, who is close to the program and KeVaugn’s family, said that Mike made Jimmy Whitt a higher priority and it was known to them that Mike wanted Whitt over KeVaughn, which led to KeVaugn initially choosing Florida. Not like KeVaughn just spurned the Hogs because he wanted to leave the state.

And of course Jimmy Whitt barely played and transfered after a year

Right now if I were in Arkansas and had a highly touted son playing basketball in the HS/AAU ranks I would steer him elsewhere for college.

I’d come to Arkansas for the 6 months and leave as freshman.

Both Portis and Gafford staying the extra year didn’t help draft position but maybe that is partly on our big man coach - Melvin Watkins and another year of potential wasted.

Gafford No. Portis. Yes. Bobby was not a consensus 1st round pick after his freshman year. He was after his sophmore. Gafford was a lottery pick last year and still a lottery pick this year. Hasn't shown much improvement. Hasn't really regressed.

ESPN has Gafford as the 29th best prospect now, CBS has him as the 31st best prospect. He was around 12-16 coming into the season. I’m pretty sure that’s what you call regressing

If he doesn't get drafted inside of the Top 20 I would be shocked. His combine measurables will be phenomenal.

Portis won SEC player of the year by coming back. Gafford I agree with, but even last year he was pretty inconsistent. He struggled badly against Butler in the tournament.

And Portis slid and slid and slid on draft night all the way to 22.
