Mikes players were very underwhelming under Mike though too.

Only thing Muss did differently was play Jones and Joe 38 minutes a game instead of subbing all the time like Mike did. Now he doesn’t know what the frick to do at all, his subbing is all over the place now.

Don’t recall them losing two in a row by 25+.

Mike also didn’t have back to back losing SEC seasons.

Unless something miraculous happens, this looks like a full on Pelphrey collapse.

What did Muss say postgame?

So. He was just average.

So we fired average for below average?

It does line up with our Athletic Departments MO these days.

You don't know if he is below average until he gets here. What I do know is Mike was just average.

Not a lot of size of course but yes, 2 NBA players and Chaney who I’d kill to have on this team right now.

Chaney is only averaging 4 points and 2 rebounds at Houston FWIW. Not sure he would have made much of a difference.

Joe deciding to come back may have made this a totally different team though, who knows.

Defensive presence and size/athleticism...

This team looks like Pelphreys in those departments.

So let me get this straight, we're clamoring for the guy who couldn't do shite in 8 years because a guy who's already signed a higher class than he ever did in his first try lost two games in a row to two of the top teams in the conference in year 2? Glad y'all aren't running the show.

Your argument might work if Mike had won road games. Let's not forget about that. I'm not defending muss btw, just pointing things out.

You’re giving a free pass because of a class rating on paper?

Besides Moody, who has shown anything worthy of those ratings?

And relax man, I realize Mike had to go but these aren’t just “losses to two of the top teams in the conference”. They completely wiped the floor with us.

It’s concerning. Don’t confuse me with StoneHog. Although I like the shite he stirs.

I'm giving Muss credit for doing what Arkansas has struggled to do for years in making sure all the top guys from here stay here. If he continues to do that, only good things can happen.

Williams is going to blossom into a star. It's not common for a 4 star recruit to be a one and done talent like Moody. Most of them are going to be like Kingsley and take a year or two to develop into a more complete player.

I'm not any happier with the last two games than anyone else here, but all that's done is lower my expectations for this group. Not much else. This early into a tenure I'm still more concerned with how he's able to fill deficiencies in the roster. If he slips up with these really strong upcoming in-state classes I'll start to sour on him real quick if it hasn't come together on the court yet.

Fair enough.

I also think it’s fair that he needs to land something/someone from out of state.

It can’t solely come down to grabbing 2-3 of the top 5 in state every year.

He's already nabbed a 4 star out of Georgia and a 3 star in Texas in the 21 class so I think he agrees with you there.

Woah, 3 star. Watch out. Sounds like an MA haul.

dude, take the time to see their highlights before making negative comments.

Muss has out recruited MA, is a heckuva coach, but needs something more for gamedays. Not sure what is missing yet.

Will it come? IKD, but he hasn't been here 1/4 of the time of MA as of yet. Would hate to fire him in less time since he is White... Ya know???

Interesting how people in this thread are clamoring for Shaka Smart when it took him 6 years to get things rolling in Texas. Nolan also lost here early but people aren't patient.

Much like a shitty boss, there is a portion of our fanbase that only knows to praise the water a coach walks on or call for his head to be rolled across the court for his performance.

Musselman deserves some criticism for the last two games but two basketball games does not a season make.
