The difference with Gundy is that his teams don't have the spectacular collapses throughout the years following a terrible loss to a South Alabama like Arkansas.

Too many of our fans have Beaten Hog Syndrome from the Chaggie years and would be permanent dark siders after a loss like that, even if he finished out strong.

The year Ok St is having is a perfect example. Half the fanbase would want him fired even though they are still ranked and have a shot at the B12 title.

I'd be down with Campbell because he knows how to evaluate midtier talent and find the NFL talent that isn't heralded. Those guys in the NFL recently went to Ames because of him.

I agree with this line of thinking hiring a HC.

I do wonder with the Gus rumors and other nonsense names we would be better off hiring Jeff Traylor as HC and paying GJ Kinne to be OC from his Texas State HC job making $800k.

Love this idea. I also can see hiring the HC of smaller programs for coordinators happening a lot more in the age of the transfer portal. Having multiple teams to gut for their best talent will help make up for roster attrition.

Might be happening at A&M.

GJ Kinne, I believe didn’t recruit anyone to Texas State that wasn’t in the transfer portal.

He used his highschool players to get the OC job. As soon as he's on campus, his backers start the push to have him become HC. With all the mustain drama, he kept it at an arms length, didn't take up for mitch or correct the problems he could such as the jersey nonsense. Real questions arise about the putrid game plan against LSU and collapse to finish the season. Encourages his players to transfer and he bolts to the first job he can find. 2007 nutt and fired and who is the first mandatory interview? Ends up at auburn as HC and uses the Arkansas job for leverage to pay raises and huge buyouts. Recommends chaggy. Gus has always been about Gus.

This. He’s a charlatan. Offense is smoke and mirrors and way outdated.

I’ll be done with the football program if he’s the choice.

He won’t be though. HY knows he will split the fan base hard.

Get the Gussiah

SMU is 8-2.

Would placate the hardcore Guslims and likely avoid another holy war.

You know, this is growing on me.

Cross Church members will call Lashlee the "Second Coming".

Gus was crucified for Nutt's sins.

Lashlee returning will bring about the 1000 year Hog rein.

The prophecy fulfilled.
