I was at that game, and froze arse off.

But, some things I noticed from that game.

1. I forgot how Willy Robinson wasn't as bad as we liked to remember. Yep, we got burnt quite a bit, but in this specific game, he hassled the Qback all night, blitz, stunts, one after another. Man, wish we had done that the past few years.
2. Although he was such a prick, BP's team evidently respected him and perhaps even loved him. When he walked to the trophy, several players hugged him and showed it to him.
3. Tejada still has PTSD from that season and having Petrino as Coach.. he has too.
4. Mallett wasn't that great, but those receivers were awesome, or getting there quickly.

Just missing winning, the feeling of getting over the hump, just to have it all crashing down, literally... Dang, I need a drink!

Before the wreck it was just coaches that didn't like working with him. The players that were comfortable under that hardass coaching philosophy went to war for him back then.

I was there too! Literally the coldest I have ever been in my life for the longest period of time. I swear there was a person so bundled up in front of me that I never figured out if it was a man or woman.

We all mocked Willy back then but he'd have been a godsend the last few years. He was very good at having his teams ready to play spread and spread option teams, which would be invaluable in today's SEC.

that was me...

Long Johns, Insulated Bibs, Coveralls, Two pairs of gloves, Liners, etc. And I stopped at a Walmart outside of Truman on the way to Memphis, all of their hot hands were half off. Bought two boxes.

There were several folks who were willing to pay good money for my hot hands I snuck in the stadium. Instead, they bought my drinks

Damn were we all there? I went too, sat in the endzone with the wind blowing our faces the whole time. Was miserable.

Terrible bowl too, would not ever go again.

I was at that game. Definitely the coldest game I've ever attended. After it was over we headed down to Tunica to gamble and stay the night. Drove home the next day.

Damn you beat me to it.

I was there, insanely cold and RIP Tusk.

The Kansas State Liberty bowl game was much more fun.

I've unfortunately been to some real shitty ones.

Mizzou Cotton bowl (was also cold AF)

Sugar Bowl

Would have loved going to the Texas Bowl even though Houston sucks.

Hopefully the hogs make a music city bowl while I'm here in Nashville.

My folks lived across the river from Memphis so I'd planned all along to go to the game. Then, as the game got closer, the predicted temperature started to drop. And drop. And drop.

I finally made the command decision to watch that sucker from the comfort of a recliner in front of the fire place. I don't know why all of you are complaining about the cold. I was nice and toasty all game!
