a better shot than the team this year.

The team this year had no shot. At best this group could have been an NIT team if they would have gotten extremely hot.

I have been critical of some of Bert's methods, especially his recruiting ability, but at least he can see when he has a deficiency and tries to remedy it as best he can. He's always looking to upgrade and he has guys coveted by other programs , especially coaching wise.

The guy also knows how to run a rock solid program, but my goodness what Mike has done recently is just embarrassing. It's like he knows Long won't fire him to avoid another Nolan situation and he just band aids situations a year at a time instead of actually solving the problem.

They were mid tier this year...

I don't care about historically, has zero to do with current players.

Bama is probably a better program right now than we are.

so you aren't saying they are a mid tier program. You are saying they had a mid tier team this year.

Program implies you are talking about historically and in the future, team implies a certain year or group of players.

Program implies where they are at right now, mid tier.

Alabama is currently a mid tier SEC program, just like Arkansas.

He could have pretty much picked his school. Mike didn't think we'd get him and so we signed whitt. Had we not gotten whitt and missed on macon and Barford you would have bitched that Mike wasn't prepared .

When witt signed he was looking at a roster with bell departing and Durham as well his sophomore yeat and no one knew hannahs would be this good. Now we have macon, Jaylen Barford cj Jones, Jenkins and all of them are behind hannahs lol your bitching over the third string shooting guard transferring

I'm all for having high expectations for Arkansas basketball and we should but some people need to take a step back and look at the last 20 years.

Exactly, mid tier is probably a bit high.

No, we're bitching because we only signed 1 player to replace:

Portis
Qualls
Harris
Madden
Babb
Williams

And now that 1 player is leaving.

This team is so fricked in 2 years unless Mike pulls about 8 or 9 rabbits out of his recruiting hat, and I think we can all see how that's going to go

Mike couldn't find 8 or 9 rabbits on 2 days before Easter in Walmart.

Beard - Don't expect too much from him
Hannahs - Barford & Macon should help him tremendously. Both in getting him the ball and taking defensive pressure off of him.
Thomas - We'll seee if Mike is correct about him being motivated and how it'll transpire onto the court.
Kingsley - All-SEC type year coming up
Thompson - Maybe worth 6 and 4 a game
Barford - Dude better be the real deal or the team is in trouble.
Macon - I expect him to be similar to Bell but better w/ the ball in his hand
Cook - Not sure how he'll compliment Kingsley, he's undersized for a 4 and probably not athletic enough to defend 3's.
Watkins - meh
Jenkins - waste of a scholly

Disagree here, I fully expect Beard to bounce back with a full offseason at LEAST to his freshman level.

We finished tied for 8th in the SEC

That is fricking terrible

Finishing in the top half of a terrible basketball league isn't exactly asking for the moon

That's a valid gripe and I agree, but we just brought in 2 players at his position that are better then him, so ur basically mad at Mike for brining in good players

And neither have played any D-1 ball. They may be better but we won't know until Mike trots them out on the floor.

Well apparently whitt thinks they are better than he is because he fricking left lol

I've played with macon before, hes better. not worried about him in the least bit, will be the best athlete
on the team, extremely agressive. Good defense too

If Barford van adjust to not being able to just out athlete everyone he'll be fine
