Again, the bottom line is...

Our secondary is not getting the job done.
Whether it's partly Jennings fault or none of Jennings fault, something needs to be fixed asap.

I'm mixed on this one.

Losing an assistant in late February is never a good thing, but I have a hard time getting past how atrocious we were back there despite having a reasonable level of experienced talent.

My only real complaint is lack of DB recruiting. It's been a while since we actually signed a CB. The DBs weren't setting the world on fire last year but they weren't that bad. If you have to cover the WR for 20 seconds you aren't going to cover that receiver the whole time. end of story.

If the defensive alignment and game plan calls for you to be 5-10 yards back off a receiver you aren't going to blow up many screen passes.

The humorous part about losing Jennings to Texas now is that you can kind of blame it on Nutt. If they hadn't been cheating at Ole Miss then Chris Vaughn doesn't get fired at Texas last week and we don't lose Jennings to them.

fricking nutt. he is going to destroy this program whether he works here or not.

But seriously anyone have any potential candidates out there that we might want? pretty much rule out anyone with SEC experience either on the field or in recruiting.

i said that same thing last season when we lost whoever it was and was told that it's a good thing that most coaches only average a few years in one place anyway. but i still would prefer a bit more continuity in the coaching staff myself.

Jennings is a Texas guy. Kind of like Shannon.

maybe we can get someone with Louisiana ties.

Shaky about being a freshman starter in the SEC for a Run based team?

You know...some recruits like our HC as well

I'm not sure if any of them will notice he gone. I agree on the hope of a guy with LA ties. we seem to be doing better there than texas. I also like thier talent better.
